Hello everyone! I am 3.5 months post op, 6cc in my 10cc band and down 50#'s. I am so happy about the weight loss. I have committed to going to the gym 4x a week and have only had a few weeks where I have fallen short since the first of the year. I had a fill last week and was taking it really easy with solids and doing well, really feeling a restriction and thinking aaaah, the green zone. But 2 nights ago I came home from the gym starving and had a few bites of a roast I had in the crockpot and have been in misery ever since. I slept in the recliner the first night, it was after 11pm before I got it clear or so I thought. Ugh! I had an early dentist apt the next morning so didnt eat or drink until around 10am and ate a smallish bite of banana while making a protein shake. It stuck. I spent the rest of the day tossing it up. Tried some water at bedtime but it didnt feel right. This morning drove to work and sipped on water on the way and did ok, but it was not just zooming thru. Managed a protein shake this morning over a couple of hours and for some unknown reason, thought i could eat some pureed soup at lunch. 4 bites and here I sit 3.5 hours later in misery still. Finally, I decided to call my Dr for advice but I cannot leave work till tomro at 4pm. I imagine he will unfill me a bit when I finally can get in. Until then, they adviseI have lost 7# since last weeks fill but no way would I want to repeat the last few days. I am diappointed b/c I thought I had finally found a level of restriction where I could actually feel full and be unable to cheat. Here's hoping that I will get back to that sweet spot after I am over this current disaster. Thanks for listening

Forgot to mention greek yogurt. I saw you have been eating some yogurt but dont feel too full after. Try some of the greek. I have tried Brown Cow--I think thats it--from Sams Club. They are so rich and creamy, i always feel so full after. i have also bought the plain unflavored kind and mixed sugar free jello mix into it for flavor. I have official made myself hungry now.....off to find my bullet -

I just made a shake yesterday that I LOVED! one envelope diet hot cho mix(25cal) and 1 scoop vanilla Protein powder(I use Bariatric Advantage Meal Replacement, 80 cals/scoop) splash of Toraci chocolate sugar free/colorie free syrup( ? spelling, in the coffee aisle at the store) 3pkts Truvia and ice, very minimal Water, just enough to get things going and add as needed. I figured it at 105 calories and 15g protein. Tastes just like a Wendy's Frosty. Eat it with a spoon! Yummy I also like to take crystal light ( 3 or 4 ounce already mixed) and mix that with 2 scoops of the vanilla protein powders and lots of ice and just a bit of water. For chocolate, I like to mix 1/3 of a frozen banana in. I bought some cottage cheese to try next. I keep reading that people say it makes the shakes creamier. I also have nectar protein products. tastes great mixes easy with water. I try not to get to carried away adding fruit and other things that just add calories. The magic bullet is my best friend, closely followed by the elliptical trainer. -
How much time between first and second fill?

I had first fill 4 weeks post op (3cc) and another 3 weeks later (+1). I am going for another next week. I get good restriction for a few weeks and then things start to "loosen up". Portion sizes are creeping up there and some binging on crap food. I may look at low carb to get rid of soem of the cravings. But I am making progress... Started 272 after pre-op diet 262 current @ 12 weeks post op 230 -

Let me know what you think. I have heard great reviews and now I read Betsy hates it. So...not sure about ordering yet. I did read one blog and the lady said she threw a scoop into the McDonalds fruit smoothie and it was great. -
Stalking My insurance company..LOL!

hi! I have Aetna too and was denied at first request. I expected it really. It sounds like they wnat documentation of dieting in the last 12-24 months. Thats the time frame that I did all the diets in the magazines and no WW or LA Weight loss etc. So unless they were gong to take my food journal from when I did HCg, I was out of luck. They requested I complete a 3 month long education program that could be part of the pre-op program. So I stretched out my behavioral sessions and visited the Dr every month for a weight check/documentation. Oct 6th is my last apt. hopefully they will approve me after that. They have 2 weeks to respond. So I may have to stalk them too! B/c I wnat surg Nov 1st. -
Do I tell or do I keep it a secret???
nearly40momma replied to nancy_marie_00's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am telling only my parents, husband and eldest child. The other 2 are too young anyway. i have to have my gallbladder out at the same time so that will be what everyone else thinks I am in the hospital for. My inlaws have never had any weight struggles and I have heard them say nasty things about overwieght people. I think it is just better for them to think I finally found a diet I can be succesful on and leave it at that. I struggled with telling my eldest the most. I know he has seen me try every diet plan on the cover of US Weekly,LOL! But I didnt want him to judge me and think of me a weak. Plus theres that whole thing about admitting that you finally are really THAT fat and not just a few pounds overweight. YIkes! -
Hopes that insurance will approve my surgery

Are you reading my mind???? I am feeling the same way. I have been so excited about some many different plans to lose weight over the years. I jumped in with my whole heart and have always failed after varying lengths of time. SO, when looking at the Band, I have a little piece of me that is holding back. A little voice in my head that says, you better not screw this up chubbs! After so many failures, I find it hard to commit my whole heart to it. I think when I feel the restriction and actually feel full after eating a 1-3oz meal, then I will believe I can do it. But that is kinda scary...... -

Hi everyone! I have a Nov 1st surg date in my mind. Trouble is I have to wait to resub to ins. They denied fist request, as I expected. Now after completing the 3 month education prgram they require on Oct 6th, I will resubmit. Since I have done all they requested, I hope they approve it now. My deductible is met for the year so I am settled on Nov 1. Would love to do 29th but am concerned about the kiddos for halloween. I guess I could always hand out candy and help them get ready so hubby can take them. Maybe I will feel so fabulous that I will wnat to walk, who knows. I am mom of 3. They are 21 years old, 4 years and 16 months. I work in the medical field and have a 45 minute commute to my rual hospital where I am the manager of my dept. My hubby and I are going on 6 years! He has been very supportive of my decision. I am NOT telling in laws however. And only my closest coworkers know. I just dont wnat to deal with the morbid curiosty. I am a shopper so I am checking our protein supplements and doing some meal planning for my different stages of pre-op and recovery. Anybody wanna hear about some products I am going to try? I hope you dont think I am a spaz but I am really excited about doing this and planning helps me keep in the zone.
