  5. Hi Jackie, how're things coming along? How're coping with the band? I'm sorry I haven't kept in touch, I dont visit the site much anymore and there have been some changes with my job - all good - but keeping me busy! :).

I've dropped a little bit more weight but not much. I have good and bad days but I try to stay positive and focus on my end result. Let me know how you're doing.

    Lisa

  6. Hi Jackie, how's everything going so far? Have you lost more weight? I hit a plateau and I'm hoping with my recent adjustment I'll see some weight loss again. When is you first fill? Do you plan on going to the support group meeting on 12/22? I have a reminder on my phone. It would be nice to meet you.

  7. Hi Jackie,

I'm glad to hear your surgery went well and that you're healing process is going smoothly. It's been a couple of weeks since I've lost anymore weight. I did well during Thanksgiving but I really need to work on making better food choices. I go for my 2nd fill tomorrow and I'm hoping it will jump start my weight loss again.

  8. How are you doing now that you have been banded for a while? Not sure I like the new format of this site. It was much easier before. I go for my first fill on 12/8. Let me know how you are doing.

  9. Hi Lisa, I am doing great. Finally feel like myself again. The surgery went very well, no problems at all. The toughest part was having it right before Thanksgiving and my husband not wanting his family to know as he doesn't think they will be supportive. So I had to play the sick card but got through it. I start mushies tomorrow and can't wait. I feel like I have been on liquids forever.

  10. Hi Jackie, how did surgery go? I hope you're doing well. Hope to hear from you soon.

  11. Hi Lisa, Sorry to hear about the Shingles that sounds painful. FYI, I have a good friend of mine who had the band 2 years ago by a different doctor. She lost about 1 pound a week on the average but consistently lost. She lost 50 pounds the first year and 50 the second. Her Dr. told her that it was normal and it is a slow process, but she has lost 102 pounds and is at goal now. I'm not expecting miracles. I know that it is just a tool and it takes a lot of work but I am hoping that this is the tool that I have always needed. I'll be in touch next week or so.

  12. Another thing, I got shingles a couple of weeks ago. My Dr. says it may have been caused by the stress of the surgery. It was very painful. I'm doing much better now and will be returning to work this Thursday. Talk to you soon!! Lisa

  13. Hi Jackie, so glad to hear that you have been given a clean bill of health and are cleared for surgery! I was worried and was glad to see your message that you were approved.

I didn't do so well in the beginning wasn't eating correctly & I began gaining weight. After my first fill I thought I felt restriction but, not for long. I spoke to another bander who had lost 45 lbs since surgery (we had it on the same day), I was only down 20 lbs from the liquid diet. He told me to wait 5 minutes in between bites. I'm sure that was told me before but I didn't remember.

I'm eating solids, mostly tuna and cottage cheese, yogurt and SF popsicles. Not much variety I know. I'm down about 29 lbs since I started my LB journey and only nine of those pounds came after surgery. I'm working out and feeling motivated once again.

Please know that I'm here for you anytime and look forward to hearing all about your surgery and recovery once you're all better.

  14. Hi Lisa, I haven't been on this site in a while. Not sure I was even going to be able to have the surgery at first, but I have now been cleared. I saw a specialist and he ran a bunch of tests that took FOREVER to get back, over two weeks. Everything came back normal. I was cleared today. Called Dr. Q's office and they scheduled me for 11/18. I start liquid again tomorrow don't have to do the full 2 weeks. I'm nervous but excited. Please tell me how you are doing and have you lost any weight. Are you happy with this decision so far. Are you eating solid food now? I am very interested in seeing how you are doing and your progress and story. -Jackie

  15. Hi Jackie, I've been thinking about you, how're you doing? Have you met with the specialist yet? I hope things are okay.
