    COURT!

so I have to go to court today and it's raining out and my "trial" will probably be delayed. It was talking on my cell phone while driving and in Connecticut if it's a first offense you have to go to court and show a receipt for a hand's free headset. What a waste of a day! And it's raining out too! So I'm going to be getting my exercise in by walking about 5 miles roundtrip from the courthouse to my car. So far what I ate today: Breakfast--1/4 Cup seafood pot pie minus the pie part (just crabmeat and lobster) Lunch--2 Slices of turkey with 1 T low fat veggie cream cheese rolled up (my favourite next to egg salad) Dinner--Not sure yet. It's going to be a GREAT day!

  3. Today I'll be doing some walking outside. I have to go to court for talking on my cell phone while driving :faint: so I have to park about 10 blocks away to get to the courthouse. That's about 5 miles roundtrip probably in high heeled boots, that'll be fun! Oh a NSV, my cousin and her husband came over last night and we were goofing around taking pictures, I can definetely tell I lost weight in my face it's weird!

For those of you who like Tuna Fish

I love tuna. And mustard. I bet that would be good with mustard too. Broccoli slaw is in the same place that the bagged spinach (EEK) and bagged salad is in.
  5. Ooooohhhh I like the last one the best! I totally feel that! When I get angry now I just take my dogs out for a walk!

    January Bandsters???

I've been having really vivid dreams, but a week before I had my surgery, I went on the best vacation ever!!!! Check it out on shipsanddip.com and watch the videos, too much to explain here! So I have dreams about the cruise for next year, that's about it. Oh and work stuff too, but those are usually nightmares! :omg:

    January Bandsters???

Some other stuff that fills me up too for everyone in BH (I think I'm getting there). What I did was measure out 2 ounce portions of ground turkey and then put them on the pan and cooked them and froze them then in the morning I'll take one out and put it in the fridge so when I get home from work, I have my turkey burger with a slice of white cheese and MUSTARD!!!!! I love mustard. I could just eat that and be happy. Or I also bought those packets of tuna that are in the same aisle as canned tuna, they have different flavors. Each packet is 4 oz so that lasts me two days. Sometimes I'll have some mashed squash with it too, all of these things fill me up. Hey, have you guys started liking foods that you wouldn't have before? For example, I wouldn't eat any kind of boiled eggs at all, not in salads, sandwiches, etc. Now I love boiled eggs! I'm going to have egg salad for lunch, my mom was laughing because she used to force it down me as a kid because it was cheaper to make that than chicken salad so that I got my protein in as a kid. I love egg salad. Oh yeah with mustard too. Love mustard.
  8. I can only eat 1/4 cup or 2 ounces. I don't want to push it, I know I've probably eaten more than that ONE time, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
  9. I know for me, I don't eat until my stomach growls really bad. I just keep up with the fluids. It's definetly a lot of willpower!
  10. Okay so I started up a journal to show what I ate and how much I exercised. No exercise today, I have a million errands to run, and tomorrow isn't looking again. Thursdays and Fridays are my "weekends" anyways, so I usually do my exercises Saturday-Wednesday.

    Any banded college students?

I'm a sociology major. It's not easy scheduling stuff around school and life, I can't wait for spring break, because I'm going to sleep in every day and do nothing until I have to go to work!!!!! May cannot come fast enough, and it's like a domino effect. For the whole vending machine diet on campus, I carry my meals with me. Since I can only eat 1/4 cup, it's practically nothing. For example today, I brought 1/4 cup of Protein Cereal and a mozzarella cheese stick. Then when I get home I'll make something else, probably egg salad. When I was on my liquid diet, I would get weird looks about drinking a little bit of "chocolate milk" but at this point in my life, I don't care what other people think. It was funny though, because the other day I was sitting in one of the classrooms, and a fellow student looked at me and goes "am I in the right class?" I told him, yeah, it's almost midterms!! He goes "oh you did something different with your hair I think". No dude, it's 37 lbs.!

Today I had school, no work, thank goodness! I have so much to do today so no exercise for me, but on Saturday I will or Friday who knows. Today this is what I'm eating: B--1/4 C high protein cereal Snack--1 Mozzarella Cheese Stick Lunch--1/2 Slice of bread and egg salad (one egg, 1 T low fat mayo) Dinner--Probably fish or seafood. I'm going out tonight with some friends, so I'll probably have one glass of wine!!! I deserve it dammit, I've had the week from hell!

    January Bandsters???

Hey everyone, I'm glad we got the March exercise challenge started, I set up a small goal, but I want to progressively set up bigger goals through the months. I haven't had a fill yet, I feel like I'm the last one on this board w/out one! I go in March 21st though, so I feel like it's finally here!
  15. I'm in, my goal is to work out 5X a week for March, then for April I'll set up a bigger goal with the better weather (hopefully!)

    Shrimp

I tried two medium shrimp last night for dinner, they worked out really good, I did a shrimp cocktail kind of thing, I took two out of the freezer, threw them in some boiling water, when they got pink, took them out, put them back in the freezer for 1/2hour then had them for dinner...Yummy and no problems with the band!

    Starbucks!!!

OMG! I would never keep track of how much money I spent on Dunkin' Donuts! I usually get Starbucks before I go to work to keep my tummy from getting nervous which is the exact opposite of what caffeine does. Your post got me thinking about how much I probably spent on fast food, or binge eating before this surgery. Then I was talking to my mom this morning and I told her I went shopping last week (groceries for two weeks) and spent 78 bucks and how upset I was. She started laughing saying she wished she spent that much! She also said she noticed I started spending money on other things like getting my car washed (I'm obsessed with my car) and just having extra money around. It really is amazing how much money we do save!!!!

    Fish? Need suggestions.....

I'm definetely not a cook, but my mom is an awesome one, and she makes fish on Thursday nights for dinner (shopping day, so fish is fresh!). We're fortunate enough to live on the coast so some of the recipes that call for lobster might end up costing more if you live in the midwest, but I'm sure imitation would work good. I'll have her dig up some recipes and I'll post them on here tonight for you guys to try!

what do you eat for snacks?

My two favorites are no sugar added fruit cocktail and applesauce. My nutritionist also puts down string cheese, cottage cheese, 1/2 protein bar, yogurt or 1/2 celery stick w/out the strings and some peanut butter. Hope those suggestions help!
  20. Hey girl, I'm glad you're first of all putting it out there that you are a little bit depressed. You can't fight it, because it will fight back ten times as hard. I was banded on 1/26, and I didn't think I could get depressed. I went back to school 3 days post op and back to work 10 days post op, I didn't give myself a break at all because I was constantly doing homework or work. Then last week I basically lost it, and it wasn't good. Now I have to go to a therapist and go back on anti-depressants that I didn't like taking, they made me feel like I was stoned or something. Don't let this slip by. I know I'm down because I haven't exercised. But March 1st if not sooner I'm getting my booty back on the treadmill!! If you need support we are all here for you!
  21. Congratulations! Babies are so cute! I can't wait for the next one in my family to spoil them rotten!!!!

    January Bandsters???

Hey guys, I remember we were talking about this earlier this month, but are we going to get some sort of exercise challenge going? I think it would be really motivational for all of us. I would organize it, but I don't even know where to start lol! I mean, I guess we could make a goal to do 20 mins of exercise 4-5X a week. Any suggestions????? PS-I ate 2 oz of ground turkey for dinner and I'm still stuffed, this is so weird but in a good way! PPS-Keep up the good work and thanks for all your support guys!

    Question, Please read!

First of all, congratulations on your surgery! I had mine on 1/26/07 and have lost 37 lbs, it feels great! Second of all, guess what? This is YOUR time to be thinking about number one, which is YOU! Don't listen to your boyfriend, friends, bosses and even family. Keep your chin up and keep yourself healthy! Don't hurt yourself physically or mentally for someone else. Trust me, I know! Keep your chin up, and if you need someone to talk to, we are all here for you on this board!!!!

    January Bandsters???

Congrats Joe, you're doing an awesome job! How much chicken breast do you eat at lunch? A whole breast or half? I can only eat about 2 oz of Protein now, and then I get that full feeling. Today for lunch I tried 2 oz on ground turkey and 2 oz of mushy squash (from the freezer aisle). That made me feel like I ate a lot. I guess that's good. What do you do for exercise? Are you doing weights now? Is anyone out here doing weights yet?

    January Bandsters???

So, I haven't been posting again. Basically I was in the hospital (non lap-band related) and my mom told the doctor's/therapists that I had a lapband and all they gave me was chicken broth :faint: ! So, after checking myself out last night, I got to eat a turkey burger! If you want to know what happened, PM me, it's something I don't want the WHOLE board reading about. So to bring myself back up, I weighed myself this morning and I lost.....37 lbs since surgery!!! I can't believe it, I think the "yummy" chicken broth helped! Guys, please please please be careful with depression post-op. I didn't think it would happen to me and it did, really bad. So if you feel glum or blue, don't think it's just a bad day or hormones, please talk to someone. Don't end up in my situation and eating chicken broth in a "special" part of a hospital. Since my surgery, it's been like a freaking roller coaster, the ups and downs are so crazy! Other than that, it's worth my health, I finally had to buy a new bra and it didn't come from a box (Playtex 18 hours anyone?). Soon I'm going to have to buy some new pants, because my behind is SAGGING (the pants, not my actual rear end lol). I'm working out more and enjoying life for as much as I can. I'm not listening to what people say or feel about it if it's negative. I just let my motto live with me (since it's literally tattooed on my back) "Nolite te bastardes carborundorum" or "don't let the bastards grind you down"
