Nauseous 24 hours a day. Is this normal?

Thanks. I think I will go ahead and give my doc a call to see what he as to say (since he might not be in the office the next 2 days due to Thanksgiving). Anyone else experienced constant nausea after the sleeve surgery?

    Day 6 post op

Hope you get to feeling better real soon. I'm 5 days post-op and suffering from constant nausea (even after taking meds to help).
  3. I change my bandages out everyday and the tape hurts like a b***h! ! You got that right!! I HATE the tape they use!! Rips my hair and skin off. grrrr.
  4. Here I am...a little embarrassed, disappointed, and ashamed...but I am ready for the Band to Sleeve revision. I took the plunge and had Lap-Band weight loss surgery on November 3, 2010. I worked hard to lose the weight with help from the Lap-Band, exercise, and the support of my wife, friends, and extended family. I did great and lost 115 pounds within 2 years...Unfortunately, the weight loss didn't last. I began to develop ulcers and other gastro issues and began to gain weight back (even though I had good restriction). I eventually had to have the band completely emptied...which resulted in me gaining all of my weight back (and more). I am currently in the process of having the Gastric Sleeve revision surgery. I have gone to another seminar, filled out all of the necessary paperwork, turned in medical records, and have my nutrition and mental health evaluations scheduled for next week. So, I should be having my surgery sometime in the next 4-6 weeks...fingers crossed. I am ready to lose weight so I can someday zip-line, go on hikes, ride in airplanes, and buy whatever clothes I want (and not be limited by the poor selections in Big & Tall sections). Thanks for listening.

    Holiday Weight Loss Challenge!

I was wondering the same thing. Can I still join? I have kept all of my weigh-ins over the last month. Let me know. Thanks. Not at all! Just let me know your goal weight and starting weight if you haven't already. If you have previous weights, I'm more then happy to add them to the spreadsheet too! Thanks so much!!!
  6. I was catheterized during surgery and it was taken out before I woke up. However, I had to be catheterized 2 times post-op because I couldn't urinate on my own. Good times. lol.
  7. Now I'm sure it is different for everyone, but in my case it didn't hurt. Akward is the only way I can think to describe it. Having that plastic tape pulled hurts way more than anything else in my opinion.
  8. I didn't experience pain when it was removed. It just felt akward as you can feel it moving across your organs inside. Took maybe 10 seconds after the stitches after stitches were removed.
  9. Thankfully my drain was taken out before I left the hospital and I don't have staples for my openings. Good luck having them removed tomorrow!
  10. I am starting to feel a little better each day. I looked up my Rx's I was given in the hospital and one of them had seizures as one of their top serious side effects, so I think that is what happened.

Band to Sleeve Revision surgery TODAY!

I'm currently on my way home, but I spoke too soon. I Had a VERY BAD night as I woke up at 2:00am with severe convulsions. I honestly thought I was going to die as my body shook uncontrollably. It was very scary. Thankfully I am better now, but they never could pinpoint the problem. We all think it was a severe drug interaction or overdose.

  25. I am having a REALLY hard time choosing between having my band to sleeve revision surgery here on November 20th or in Mexico with Dr. A. Would love any input from others. I have so many Pros and Cons for each that my mind is just tired. If I go to Mexico I could have it with my wife the exact same day and we would be side by side every step of the way on this journey. However, I have already invested my time, emotions, and money (about $800) into having it here in the US. I am also VERY impressed with Dr. A in Mexico. We talked to him on the phone via FaceTime a few days and I was VERY impressed with him. When have you ever talked to your doctor on the phone? Personally, I have never talked to a US doctor on the phone in all of my 38 years. That was just a big eye-opener to me. He was so friendly, intelligent, and a joy to talk with (even though the call was with my wife). But on the flip side it is a little nerve-wracking to travel to another country to have such a major procedure done...and I won't be able to be right there waiting for my wife to come out of surgery if I am also undergoing the surgery the same day. So, we can't really take care of each other and help each other if we are having the sleeve done the same day. Another Pro to having it here is that it will be run through my insurance, so we have a few months before we get the bills AND we can then setup a payment plan. In Mexico it would all be due the same day...and even though it is much cheaper than here in the US it is still a lot of money to come up with all at once. I am also already a little envious of how awesome the BariatricPal Mexico team has taken care of my wife in regards to e-mails, phone calls, questions answered, etc. I don't get even 10% of that kind of specialized treatment from my weight management team and surgeon here in the US. And once she has had surgery and spent time in the recovery house I have a feeling I will be 100% envious of how awesome the Mexico team took care of her and I might even possibly regret having it here in the US...and I don't want that. Well, I guess I have done enough rambling. Just having a really hard time making the decision on what would be best for me and for us. So, if anyone has any advice I would much appreciate it. Thanks for listening.
