Holiday Weight Loss Challenge!
Fatty McFatster replied to stephh's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I actually will not be continuing running these. @@vsgSarah3 offered to step up and continue them though! I'll be in contact with her today and will make sure the link to the new thread is posted here =) Previously they ran back to back and for 6-8 weeks at a time. It's up to Sarah though! Thanks so much for all you have done!! It doesn't go unnoticed!! -

It's my (birthday) and I'll cry if I want to...
Fatty McFatster posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Today is my birthday...normally a cause for celebration...but today I am sad. I never realized how much food was involved in my birthday celebration. I am currently 4 weeks post-op and can't really enjoy any of the foods normally associated with a birthday. No steak and baked potato or pizza for dinner. No buttered popcorn and coke at a movie. No cake and ice cream after the gifts. I know that having the sleeve surgery was my decision and I don't regret it in the least, but it is going to take some time for me to not emotionally want food. I made it through Thanksgiving just fine (which occurred 1 week after my surgery) and don't feel the food pressures of Christmas either. However, my birthday is a different story and I am struggling. Would love some support from my fellow Bariatric Pals today. -

Survived a Cruise 1 month post op
Fatty McFatster replied to Angry Banana's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks for sharing your experience and offering up a lot of helpful information. My wife and I love to go on cruises and look forward to hopefully going on a 10-year anniversary cruise next year. Overall I think you did good, especially when most people end up 10+ pounds heavier after a cruise. -

Smaller pieces I could do! Had a slice of brisket yesterday. Maybe a fondue dinner? Hrmm...Small pieces of meat boiled in broth (not oil). Cooking only 2 pieces at a time so should be slow enough. Perhaps... That sounds good!! -

I think I am using the wrong term. The steak wasn't actually pureed (no liquid added to it). It was just ground up into smaller pieces. -

My 1 MONTH Post-Op Progress Report
Fatty McFatster replied to Fatty McFatster's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thank you!! I appreciate the kind words. I have a long way to go, but I just might change my name if I lose enough weight. Awesome results, man. Truly awesome. Just think......you are just a month into this deal. Tremendous first month. As far as the name change thing goes......may I suggest Dirk Diggler. Mark Walberg's character name from Boogie Nights. You are gonna feel like a stud. I can't get over your clothing size difference in just ONE month. I know that feels great. Thank you so much! I really appreciate the vote of confidence! Thank you so much. I have a long way to go, but I am more pleased with the change in my mobility than the weight lost. For a while I was fearful for my life due to the immobility and exertion it took just to walk to the mailbox. And I am definitely going for that hike. We have been dreaming about it for a long time and I even think Santa is bringing us some hiking shoes. I am so happy I am able to walk again as well. I didn't realize how exhilarating it is and how much I took it for granted. -

It was good, but the frosting was way too sweet and kind of made me nauseous …which I am actually happy about. Makes me not crave it so much. -

He picked the kiss and I gave it to him on your behalf!! Heheehe Thank you! I'm so glad you could make it real. Between you and me, F2P, the idea of steak and potato in the blender makes me queasy. A thousand years ago when I was inpatient for appendectomy, I felt hungry after a couple of days on IV and suggested pizza in a blender. It sounded okay then, but queasy-making now. You are a loving partner and he's lucky. I've seen your screen name around, but not the Kentucky connection. I wish you both all the best as partners in crime and all else. It actually wasn't that bad. Tasted good to me. lol. -
