    Internal Bleeding

I would say my stool is dark but the blood is a brighter color. I'm thinking I'll call my surgeon since my PC doc is not really "up" on the surgery. Thanks for the advice.

    Internal Bleeding

Ok, here goes. I had my lapband done on Aug. 24. Everything has gone along very well. I'm not quite at my sweet spot, but close after 3 fills. Here's my porblem. I think I'm bleeding internally!! Thought I had diarrhea, but I've also been passing blood for the past 3 days. I have no pain, my blood pressure is good and I'm wondering if anybody else had this problem? I see my surgeon next week for another fill and am planning to wait until then to do or say anything about the bleeding. Has anybody else experienced this? I would appreciate your advice. Laura I should add that the bleeding is controlled, in that I'm not having to wear a pad or anything. I only bleed when I use the bathroom.

I am 6 weeks post-op with 1 fill and I have had no trouble eating popcorn.
  4. How do I post one of those TickerFactory banners on my posts? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

  5. Hi, all. I live in Sandy, a small town 30 miles SW of Portland, OR, gateway to Mt. Hood. I have always been a stay at home mom to our 4 grown kids, although I've held many parttime jobs along the way. Currently my husband (of 35 yrs) and I are Therapudic Foster Parents to a 10 yr old and a 3 yr old. I was banded 8/24/10 and my only complaint is I wish I had done this a long time ago.
  6. I was exactly wher Had_Enough was, one week after banding. I was SOOOO HUNGRY, that I started eating regular food a week after banding!! (8/24/10). One month after banding, I went in for a fill, expecting to have gained weight, but I hadden't!! I was thrilled!! Now I have a little restriction, but am looking for more. All of this advice has been helpful for me, too. Thank you. We just need to be kind to ourselves. It took us more than a few monts to gain all this excess weight, it's going to take awhile to get it all off. And it truely is a learning experience!! Blessings!
  7. I had thyroid surgery 10 years ago, and my surgeon gave me wonderful advice. He said I should apply a thin layer of sunscreen over the scar (once it's healed, of course) for 2 years. If you tan or burn that area, you will have a permanent brown or red line. My sister, who also had the same surgery 5 years before me, was not given that info and he scar is still a little pink. You can't even see mine!! Thought this might be useful information for anyone having surgery. Blessings!
  8. I was banded 8/24/10 and was amazed at how easy it was to get approval. Tricare has been great!! My surgeon requires a few classes before surgery, meeting with a dietician, sports medicine therapist & psychiatrist. This took about 3 months only because my schedule was so busy. My BMI was 44 and I have diabetes, high blood pressure and I'm more than 100 lbs over weight, all factors in getting approved. Good luck to my fellow military wives on this journey!! I, too, am a follower of Jesus Christ and a proud Army wife and Navy mom!
  9. Hi, everybody. I, too, am with TriCare. My husband retired from the Army 16 years ago. We do not live near a MTF, so had my lap-band done at a civilian hospital on 8/24/10. I think my total out of pocket will be $3000. I am doing well, I think. Lost 10 pounds before surgery, had my 1st fill on Sept 22, and haven't noticed much of a change yet. Looking forward to more fills, as I am really hungry!! Good luck to all of you.

    Oregon Newby

Hi, everybody. I'm Laura and I was banded on Aug. 24, 2010. I had my first fill today (Sept.22) and am looking forward to getting support from others who are ahead of me in this journey. My surgeon offers a support group, but it's over an hour away, not counting rush hour traffic!!

    Question about a hiatel hernia~please

I am 4 weeks post-op. I, too, had a small hiatel hernia. I rarely had acid reflux or heartburn, and the hernia never caused me any discomfort before surgery. Within the last few days, the heartburn has gotten worse. Today was my first fill, and I've had heartburn all day. Hope it goes away soon.:smile2:
