I have wanted some kind of gastric surgery for 15 years or longer, having been over-weight since childhood. I knew I didn't want by-pass. For me, it was too drastic. Plus, I know someone who had by-pass done, and she looks horrible!! She looks much older than her actual age, and she's so afraid of gaining the weight beack, she hardly eats anything. When Lap-Band came to the USA, and because my insurance company would pay for most of it, I knew the time was right.My surgery was Aug. 24, 2010. I didn't have any complications post-surgery and am looking forward to a longer, healthier life.
