    Time off work?

I had my surgery on Wednesday (10/06) and worked from home that same Friday - went back into the office for the full day on Monday (10/11).
  6. Hi all, I was banded on 10/06 - now I'm scheduled for my first fill on 11/11. I'm nervous because I feel so much "tightness" now. For example, it's 3:24pm and I'm still feeling tightness when I'm trying to swallow yogurt. I understand feeling this way in the morning, but still now at this time of the afternoon? I guess my biggest concern is that I won't be able to swallow anything after the fill! I really just can't imagine how it will feel being tighter than I already am. I have no problems at all with liquids, but even the softest foods are problematic. I suppose I could still be swollen from the surgery. Any thoughts? Thanks for your advice!

    Is this normal?

I was banded on 10/06 and I still feel full after only a small amount. I am on mushies now, and I can barely get down 1 cup of yogurt. A Protein shake even fills me up and I can barely finish it. I guess I'm glad, but I honestly can't imagine getting my first fill (scheduled for that in 3 weeks). I don't think I'll be able to hold anything.

    Gas Keeping Me Miserable

I had my surgery on 10/06/10 and am also suffering with gas pain. I find that "Gas-X" tablets do help. Also, because I'm experiencing gas pain in my left shoulder area I find that a heating pad to that area seems to soothe the pain. And, like you, I'm just moving a lot and trying to get that gas to move on out. I think it's all a part of the experience - just keep what you're doing and start taking some Anti gas tablets and see if that helps. Hang in there, we can do it!

    First day back to work

I'm back to work today and I am trying to move around. Problem is, I haven't told anyone here (except my three closest workmates) that I even had the surgery. So, while I am trying to walk around, I have to do that without looking like I'm moving too slowly! It would be comical if I felt like laughing! Here I am wanting to move slowly and can't, I have to act normal! Everyone is asking me - "how was your vacation" and I have to say, "oh great, had a great time"! It really is almost funny except it hurts to laugh. And, to top it all off, today is the first day I've worn a bra since last week and I find that one of my incisions is right under my freakin' underwire! Good grief, the plight of an overweight woman, geesh!
  10. and I'm exhausted! I was banded last Wednesday (10/06/10). Everything has gone very well, no need for much pain med. I'm really not in pain, just a little sore; but, I'm definitely tired! I feel like I have no energy. I feel full after I drink even a few sips of a shake, so I know I'm not getting many calories each day. I know this will pass, and I will make it - but right now I'm thinking "what have I done?" Taking off any more time from work isn't an option. I work at a desk so my job isn't strenuous, thank God! I'm sure that once I can get in more calories I will regain some energy. Anyone have any suggestions or just positive comments for me? :puke:

    October 2010 Bandsters!!

Oh my goodness, I swear I just said those exact same words yesterday "what if something happens to me and I leave my two boys without a mother all because I want to lose weight"! I am also in health care and I swear sometimes I hate the info I know. I am very emotional right now, one minute I'm very excited and the next I'm freaking out. My surgery is Wednesday. I just need to calm down. I know everything will be fine, but I still just can't help getting the jitters. This is totally normal, right?

Yippie I'm an October bandster too! I'm scheduled for next Wednesday October 6th. Excited and nervous, just like you said, but just ready to get it over with. I'm ready to start my journey!

    Hello, new here from NC

Unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover any type of bariatric procedure, so I'm self pay. But, I'm looking at it as an investment!!

    Hello, new here from NC

Hi Jillian, I'm in Statesville, just right up the road! Looking forward to keeping up with you too - perhaps we can be band buddies. I know it certainly helps me knowing that someone close by is going through the same thing I am.
