Well, I survived day one with only minor injuries. :-)
Had 2 major food temptations at work on day one. One person brought 2 dozen donuts to work for the co-workers and my boss man brought in 2 homemade pies. EEEK!!!
I managed to steer clear of them but man ole man was it a challenge.
Anyhoo, day 2 is on now and I am chowin down on a choco bar right now. yum!
:smile2:

Well, I finished up my day one last night with the Opti-Fast Tomato Soup and 2 sugar free popcicles. The Tomato Soup didn't dissolve as well as I would like so instead of pouring the power into the hot Water, tonight I will pour the hot Water on top of the soup. This might help.
As for taste....meh. I don't normally eat tomato soup to begin with.
I can report that the shakes were all good and so is the choco bar that I eat for Breakfast.
As for hunger, didn't have any yesterday. I did have that artificial sweetener after taste in my mouth at the end of the day. Didn't care for that so much.
All in all, a good first day. Now... on to day 2. WooHoo!

Hey! They only had the tomatoe Soup and chicken Soup at the FFX office. I definitely don't like it. I really like the shakes though, I don't know if it's hunger or what but I'm always kinda sad when I finish one. HAHA I appreciate that they let us have the jello-o and popcicles. It makes it a lot easier. Sooo, i'm down to my 4 shakes a day, no soup, 3-4 jell-o (the fourth if I'm extra hungry to offset the no soup) and 3 popcicles and tons of Water. Glad it's not bad for you, my first day I wanted to breakdown and cry from hunger...I'm back to being normal now. :smile2:Good luck!
Hiya, VIV!
Yeah, coming to the end of day one. On my 3rd shake (vanilla) and will be having the soup tonight, a choco shake and 2 more Jell-o's and 3 popcicles. LOL. Figured might as well if I can. Not too grumpy although there is temptation all around. Someone brought 2 dozen donuts in today as well as 2 pies. EEEK!

R U trying the Soup tonight? Let me know how that goes over if you are. I didn't realize how much anxiety I had over this whole pre-op diet until just a little bit ago.Yep. They gave me Tomato Soup which I never eat to begin with. Might be swapping that out but seems like there is not a good alternative from the other soup choices.

I am on my third day of my liquid diet and I will say it is getting a little bit easier. I was absolutely starving the first day. How many days do you have to do your pre-op diet? I basically have two more days since I have my surgery on Friday. I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.I have to do mine for 2 weeks prior to surgery. I am on day one now. so far, so good. It is 2 pm and I have 2 Optifast shakes and either the Soup or a shake for dinner left for the day. My doctor is also allowing me 3 servings of sugar free Jello and 3 Popsicles a day.
-
Uhhh....you get Jello, I get nothing more than the Opti-Fast and Water. At least it was Jello and not a cheeseburger. Next time you'll be sure to double check the sugar free part I'm sure of it :smile:Yeah, I am allowed 3 servings of sugar free jello and 3 sugar free Popsicles every day.
Yeah, no cheeseburger. Don't want to even think about that! hahahaha

I am telling most ppl I know for 2 reasons. 1) they will wonder why I am only eating soft foods for almost a month and 2) because they will wonder why I stopped drinking alcohol. LOL
-
will do. I accidentally already screwed up by eating Jello that was not sugar free. Thought it was but when I ate it.... it was obviously not sugar free. Did I stop? Well, of course not. I convinced myself that they did a very fine job of making their Jello without sugar. :-)

Whaaaaat? That's cool! I could always use another big brother LOL. Well, I really hope to see you around the office and maybe the support groups. Are you in the Fair Oaks office or Woodbridge? I went to the support group in Woodbridge and didn't really like it, there were mainly gastric bypass people there and mainly concentrated on them. I'm going to try and go to the one the Fair Oaks hospital offers...hopefully I'll find more bandsters there.Good luck!!!
I have been going to the Woodbridge office. However, if there is not much in the way of support groups for the banding there, I will consider Fair Oaks. Not terribly convenient for me as I live in Springfield. Let me know what u think about the Fair Oaks situation.

At least you can have mashed potatoes. :-)

Just having my first Opti-fast "meal" of the day. The choco bar. Not bad. very dense.

Hi all
New member here and first time poster. Getting my banding done on the 12th of Oct and will be starting my Opti-Fast pre-op diet tomorrow. Had my "last meal" yesterday at the Cheesecake Factory. lol
Anyhoo, I haven't tried the Opti-Fast yet and was wondering what everyone thought of it. I have vanilla, strawberry and chocolate drinks as well as bars and Tomato Soup (which I normally don't eat.)
Looking forward to the band.
Yikes! It's finally here!
