hi,im just wondering what a slipped band feels like?Can you tell?

totally,i find it hard to eat without a drink,so i still do it sometimes,it is very uncomfortable,maybe i ll learn.

hi everyone,i had my first fill last week,of 1ml.It really seemed like i had good restriction for about 4 days,now im noticing hunger creeping up again,will i ever get this right?

well had my first fill,1ml,is that a lot?i dont really know what the normal amount is,seems to be working,im not as hungry as before,god i hope it lasts.:thumbup:

Hi Cathy,i was banded only 6 weeks ago so i cant give you a ton of advice as im at the beginning of the journey,when i was considering the surgery and options i was the same as you,wasnt interested in the sleeve as its so permanent,im just hoping the band works out,i had my first fill of 1ml 5 days ago,it seems to be to be holding back my hunger,sometimes im not sure as nuts as that sounds,when you said you hd 2mls i was surprised as my doc gave me the impression 1 ml was a large fill,anyway im sorry to hear about your band slip,it sounds like youve had a rough time,i hope you decide to get rebanded,maybe this time have it monitored more closely,good luck,if you lost weight before,you can do it again.

hi,i had my band put in sept 16 2010,im due to get my first fill next wednesday,27th oct,I lost 9 kilo between pre and post op and also gained a bit back.Even though ive been told its normal to feel hungry before a fill,i cant get my head around still being hungry with the band in,can you guys please reassure me i am normal,will this hunger stop after my fill?I feel disillusioned,will this band work?:wink2:

wow sarah,sounds like a lot of running around,no matter what surgery you need they seem to make you jump through hoops dont they?How are you going with the band?Are you glad you got it?ive only had mine 4 weeks and because i dont have any fluid in my band im starting to get hungry ,grrrr,anyway good luck .

Hi Sarah,Can i ask you how you went about having your band in the public system?I was told no way,that they didnt do it.You dont have to answer if you dont want to.:puke:

alycejo,i too had to wait the 12 months,i was so keen to get started,but when i rang the surgeons office to make an appointment the secretary told me to wait,as you have to pay docs consult fee,and with a years gap id have to see him again sooner to the date,hence pay again,so i ended up calling in march,appt may,banded september,it may not apply in your case,but they can usually fit your surgery around your eligibility date.

i havent had my first fill yet,i cant wait ,i get it in 3 weeks,i have no restriction at all, hungry as i ever was,Cant wait to start losing weight.

dont be scared,as long as you go in with your eyes wide open you will be fine,there is pain,as im sure you know,it gets less day by day and by day 7you should be back to normal,i was banded 3 weeks ago today and havent been in pain for days now.I think youwill be just fine.

hi,i am 13 days post op,i felt exactly the same a week ago,the pain was intense,the night i had the surgery i was crying non stop,it hurt bad,then the pain from the gas for 5-6 days,at 13 days i feel completely normal,sometimes when i lie on my side its slightly painful but not much,you will be ok,please hang in there,by this time next week you should feel a lot better,i wish you the best of luck.

hi everyone,im in my third week(puree)im due for my first fill in 3 weeks,i absolutely starving at the moment and i was just wondering how long after the first fill will i stop being so hungry??

I feel very inspired by your story,congratulations on your weight loss,i feel the same way about the good foods,i guess when you commit to the band its time to give up the sweets and maccas.

Angie,i dont really think theres much you can do to relieve it,they told me deep breathes,All i can say is your only on your 5th day and it will get less and less as eachday passes.I hope you feel better soon.

thanks,the more i look into it,the more i realize its normal,i spent a few days really worried about it,thinking i had wasted a lot of money.But i think after a band fill things will start happening.good luck with yours.

hi everyone,i used optislim and optifast 2 weeks prior to my surgery,sept,16,anyway,i didnt mind the OF shakes,chocolate,they have to be cold or they are terrible.Also i couldnt stomach the soups,OF or OS,i ended up making my own pumpkin soup and thinning it out with a hand mixer,also i d make stirfry at night for dinner with cabbage,red pepper,carrot,zucchini,etc with a splash of soy.Lastly the berry optifast bars are the best,they kind of taste like a cherry ripe,I lost 7 kilos in those 2 weeks before surgery.

hi,i was in terrible pain for about 4 days after my banding,sept 16 2010,but it does subside and your appetite will pick up,you will feel better soon,good luck.
