Julia checking in at 185. Gained 2 pounds. That fill needs to happen quick. LOL

PBing is the fun of either eating too fast or getting stuck and having a 'productive burp'. Kind of like when baby spits up. It's gross too. My episodes come hand in hand with the sliming. For some reason, my surgeon didn't go into any of this either. I learned it all from this board. Glad you came here and are learning about this kind of stuff first. You'll be more successful in the end. J.
-
Nope, once it starts that's it until the stuck is gone. I make sure to keep spitting it out (sorry to be so gross) and that way, it won't go back into my pouch and make it worse. Don't be scared, just excuse yourself to the bathroom like you got real business to do Julia

:bananalama: Yeah!! We have the same goal and starting weight My 50 is crawling though. LOL J.

Yea, I had to stop myself from buy tortilla chips and salsa this weekend at the store All chips are evil. LOL

You and I had surgery at the same time Mine was 9-28-2010 I get disappointed too because I see people who had surgery about the same time or after and they've lost a ton of weight. The thing to remember is that everybody's journey is different. You are going to gain and lose weight. You shouldn't beat yourself up over it and pick yourself up and start again. You're getting fills which means that you want it to work. Let the past be the past and move forward. You'll get there! Julia

Fat Around Stomach and Fills
Juliat replied to NJGirl32's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I've had 4 fills. I'll be just right for a few weeks, and then will need another fill. It can be anything really - Fat around the stomach, swelling, etc. Some people go without fills, some people go with until they are just right and some go extra tight. It's really going to up to you on what will feel comfortable. Don't be surprised after you heal and before your first fill that you will be hungry all the time. I was until about my 3rd fill. Just keep going and you'll get to your spot soon enough Julia -
Julia checking in.. Lost 2 pounds to 183.. It was a tough 2 pounds though because I need a fill

They opened new In and Out burgers in the Dallas area. I've heard of them from different blogs I read and knew they were 'extra special'. My friend who loves them couldn't wait to take me there to get me a burger. To indulge her and quite frankly to ease my curiosity, I went with her and my sister. I got a single and they got double-doubles. When I was eating it, I had to keep taking small bites and pulling off most of the top bun. She was looking at me like I was crazy I was watching her and my sister with amazement. How can people just stuff food in their faces like that? I asked my sister if she was ever going to take a breath. I told my sister afterward that I don't taste food the same way. Yes, it's good but it doesn't send me into binging or eating like a pig anymore. It's weird because before the lapband, I would have tore that burger up This time, I only at half of it with the bun tore off. Anyways this was the first time since my band in September that someone took me to a place and told me 'You've got to try this' and it didn't affect me like I thought it would or like the way it used to. I don't even know what just happend
Juliat replied to FadnoMore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honey, eat when you are hungry. The first 4-6 weeks is about healing and it truly is. What you are going through called bandster hell is horrible and can make you feel like it was not worth it. When you eat just try to eat well and drink plenty of Water. Make sure you are getting your Protein in too. You can also practice your eat slow / chew well technique. Trust me, you don't want to have to learn it when you have restriction. Trial by fire is not fun with PBing, Sliming, etc. Don't worry what other people think about you now. Just think positive and in a few months, you'll show those folks! Julia -
Very common. I've had 4 fills and experience this same issue on all of them. It will take you a bit to get to the level you need for the band to work. I wouldn't worry about having a leak so soon in the game. If you are really worried, have them take out the saline that's in your band first before the next fill. They can tell you how much is in there and if it's less than what was put in originally, then you have a leak. But like I said, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Julia

Congrats! Now, you'll have to change your screen name - OnderlandCameandGone?

Right after I got my band, I flew to South Texas. They just put in one of those xray machines and I know they saw the band. They pulled me aside and started asking me questions about it and asked if I had an operation recently. Luckily I had my surgeon's paperwork (someone suggested I bring it) and had to explain to them about the band. It was weird, but there was a lot of people looking at the screen and pointing. I felt like a criminal Julia

I drink vodka/cran as well and did notice that the alcohol has more of an effect on me. So, I don't drink as much and try to eat 30 minutes before I drink. Julia

I'm with you. I just couldn't deal anymore with having to worry about it. Julia

Urinating about 30 times the night after surgery-normal ?
Juliat replied to 1970MaleJaxFL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your surgery was such a little time ago, you may get weirdness with your body as it adjusts and heals. I know I get that urge a lot more than usual even after having surgery 6 months ago. Wait a little bit and see how it goes. If it becomes a huge problem, then call your doctor just in case. Julia -
The Spring Fever Challenge
Juliat replied to size10again's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Julia checking in on time this week Down 2 pounds to 189! :Banane02: -
I'm with Elfie. It's like Eating Russian Roulette with the lapband. You kind of have to go with whatever mood the band is in for the day. I also agree with the leftover idea that the food does get drier when you re-heat it. Especially chicken. I can totally enjoy a meal during dinner, but when I try to eat the same thing the next day, I seem to get stuck more. What I started doing was taking even smaller bites the first couple bites and see if it's going to work or not. Julia

To put it bluntly....I burp and fart all the time!
Juliat replied to gotmyeyeontheprize's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been banded since September and I've had bad gas. Not belching, but the other end I had to start taking digestive health every morning and it helps. I also had to stop drinking as much coffee too. Try changing your diet up a little bit and see if it's not a certain food that maybe causing an issue. I know it's horribly painful. If you try changing a couple of things and still have issues, then do go see your doctor. Especially with those bowel movement issues. Thanks! Julia
