  1. That's cool! I love riding. The course is great and you learn a lot. Advise though: when you ready to purchase your first bike, get something small like a 250cc (honda rebel, yamaha virago). I bought a harley right off the bat and still have yet to ride it comfortably. Now, that I've got a smaller bike, I'll work my way up to the bigger one

There is this one guy in my office that makes me blush. You know the one; ultra good looking, nice, suave, the whole package. Anyway, he's been commenting on my weight loss for the last couple of weeks. Well yesterday, I was walking in a door as he was walking out. He stopped as he was walking out and was like 'Hi Julia' as I was walking away to my desk. He didn't just walk out quickly, he paused for a minute. I think he was checking out my fanny :blushing: I just said hi and kept walking. It's nice to have the fellas take notice again. J.
  3. In the morning time, I can't eat eggs... I can't usually eat too much during the morning. I have a Protein shake and can eat dense food starting around 10am. Try having them later in the morning if you have time and see if there's a difference. There are a lot of people who are tight in the morning. J.

  8. Julia checking in at 172. Stayed the same as last week. I did the 5 day pouch test so I'm hoping that will help me in the future with the amounts I'm eating. I was pretty disappointed that I didn't lose anything during the test though

  11. When you are at the right level (fills) of your band where you don't feel hungry and get that satisfied feeling after eating, the obsessing will decrease. I can't say that it will totally go away because food addiction is like drug or alcohol (I'm a recovering alcoholic) addiction that really never goes away. But, the band will help you stop overeating when you eat the right food. Of course, it can't stop you from eating bad food like chips, ice cream, or Cookies because those just slide on through. I found that when I've eaten until I'm satisfied and don't get hungry for a couple, three, sometimes four hours, I don't think about food. I'll look at the clock and tell myself, 'hey, it's getting close to lunchtime, see what the cafeteria is having or decide what salad you want'. Not the old discussion I used to have in my head 'Ok, I just finished Breakfast, what do I eat next; no I can't eat that quickly after breakfast I have to wait a until lunch; that's too long to wait, blah, blah, blah'. You get the meaning. Getting head banded is just as important as getting lapbanded in that you are going to learn how to eat to live and not live to eat. It's going to be a long process, but well worth the effort. J.

  15. How fast did you eat and how big were the bites of brocolli? Sometimes I have a delayed reaction if I didn't take small bites.. Don't worry. If you vomited too hard, go back to liquids for a day and then try again. Your stomach still might be healing and is swollen. Brocolli and other course food sometimes are hard to swollow. Julia

    Normal Feeling???

First, you shouldn't compare yourself to anyone's weight loss. I had my surgery September of last year and I know folks who have lost more than me who had their surgery 6 months after. Does it bother me? Nope. Because I know that I'm losing at the pace that's right for my body... If you're doing everything correctly and following the rules, you're body will act accordingly. Don't stress over others weight loss. You'll set yourself up for failure As far as the feeling in your esophagus, that's what I like to call a soft stop. It's my band telling me to prepare to stop eating. LOL. It happens more with denser food, like chicken or steak or dryer food. I don't get it as much when I eat slider food like yogurt or cottage cheese. When I get that feeling, I start to take smaller bites in between longer periods of time or I just stop eating. It really matters how much I've eaten. If I didn't get the calories in that I plan for that meal, I may take longer to eat by doing what I just said. Another soft stop signal is hiccuping. You should be very proud of yourself and your weight loss.. Don't beat yourself up because it's not coming off fast. Sometimes slower is better because your getting your body used to eating the correct way. Take care, Julia

  18. Getting fills is really based on the individual's needs. There are some who never have a fill and there are some that have to go regularly to get them. You're band will be constantly changing, sometimes when the fat around your stomach shrinks or with swelling. I had perfect restriction for months, but then I lost it because I was hungry soon after eating and I could eat more. I had to go get another fill. I don't know why this happened but it's just part of band maintenance. You'll know if your band needs a fill and it's up to you to keep it at a level that's helping you. Hope this helps, Julia

    Freedom Challenge

Yea! I lost 2 pounds to 175. Even though I didn't make my goal for this challenge, I did hit the 50# mark! :Banane02: Just 30 more pounds to my goal. It's all downhill from here Julia
  20. This is a good topic My picture was taken yesterday and as I was uploading them to facebook, I kept laughing because it was of me driving away from the camera on a motorcycle. I had to explain to my sister that it was funny because of my big fat fanny... She looked at the picture and said she didn't see what I was talking about and that I looked great. Low self-esteem and image is something that is so hard to break. I've been walking around all day self-conscience because of the pictures. I just feel huge even though I've lost 50 pounds. It's all in the eye of the beholder J.
  21. Probably give them a call. The signs are definitely showing that you didn't get filled enough. However, my doctor won't give me a fill for another 2-4 weeks even if I know that it wasn't enough. He says that the fills need to heal for that amount of time.
