I am one month post lap band and I have started having real pain at the top of my ribs, right side, and the pain shoots through to my back and shoulder blades. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I would invite you all to read my new blog livemylapbandjourney's posterous - This Journey is all mine. I am the captain. Every turn and indecision affects the progress; not toward the end but instead toward the beginning... It is filled with tips and trips down memory lane, and little anecdotal stories. Perhaps it will serve as inspiration to someone.

I am 2 weeks and three days post-op. I went to see my surgeon and ending up getting a half-fill because I was just starving all the time! It seems a little bit better now. I don't feel as desperately hungry. By the way, I started a new blog for the bandsters and bandsters to be: livemylapbandjourney's posterous - This Journey is all mine. I am the captain. Every turn and indecision affects the progress; not toward the end but instead toward the beginning... -

You can always go online. I found this site: Bariatric Advantage - Nutritional Supplements, Vitamins, Proteins, and Help for Gastric Bypass, Distal, Lap Band, Realize, Stomaphyx and Duodenal Switch Surgery Patients They have protein drinks made for pre-op bariatric patients. -

We are scheduled for the same day!! Mine is 10am or thereabouts. I have learned that when people, especially girls, don't seem thrilled for you when you are doing something really good for yourself, and perhaps they don't have the courage, they are often jealous. If they are heavy they will feel intimidated by you once you begin to shed those pounds! Your husband's support is much more important and to go through it together is great. I understand though, that having someone, a fellow to be banded to talk to has more relevance. I am glad I found this forum. We are all in this together! You go girl and feel all that you are feeling. Above all...feel proud! -

My doc has me on a 30 grams of carbs per day + at least 40 grams of protein pre-op diet. My biggest temptation is BREAD and PASTA so this is a really good one for me. Second day and so far I don't want to strangle anyone! -

Greetings October Bandsters! I just signed up yesterday on this awesome site. I am scheduled for Oct 5. I am in the 2nd day of pre-op diet which means I lived through the 1st! I see several of you had upper GI's...why is that? -
You scooped me by four days! I too am nervous and excited and can't believe it is now so close. How are you doing on your pre-op diet?

Hello fellow "to be" banded and already banded. I have just started my 2 week pre-op diet and have not fainted yet. My surgery is scheduled for 10/5. Would love to stay accountable with the help of all of you out there. it is always easier when your feet are held to the fire.
