Hillary Clinton, First Woman President of the US. Would you vote for her?
amillerjones replied to godloveshope2's topic in Rants & Raves
I don't know if I would vote for Hillary; it would depend on who is running against her. I am still for Obama- I really don't like Hillary, but I would like a woman president one day. OBAMA for PRESIDENT- I think he cares more for America than Hillary. Hillary is more business as usual and I think that she was instrumental in the passing of NAFTA and sat on the Wal-Mart board of directors at one time. It appears that Hillary is out for her own interests and whomever can do for her. She seems to do anything for a vote. She is for the war when it's popular and lacks the integrity that Obama has. She has definitely turned me off. She also lacks the charisma that her husband has. -
I am one of those college graduates that chose to keep my maiden name. I sometimes hyphen it with my husband's, but legally my name is still my maiden name. My maiden name is the name on my drivers license, social security card, and my credit cards.

Obama...first african american...would you vote for him?????
amillerjones replied to shauntil6266's topic in Rants & Raves
Sometimes you need to be politically younger so you are still passionate about making a difference in the lives of Americans. If you have been in the senate for 10 years; sometimes you start feeling like business as usual and start looking out for your own self interests instead of America's....might end up like our current president. -

Kennedy was politically young at the time too -
Why are you overweight?

While I voted for poor food choices; I would like to go deeper into why we make poor food choices and lack of excercise? What made us feel like we weren't worth the better food choices and excercise? -
So - what's your status?

I am married to a decent man. He is a good provider for me and our children...so...he does his job. I love him and he loves me...what else could one ask for? I am wondering why there isn't any men on here talking about how wonderful their wives are. -

Clinton was young, Kennedy was young, some of our best presidents just happen to have been young guys. I think age shouldn't matter, nor should race, nor should middle names! -
That feeling was over after a week and a half, but now I am due for a fill again!
-
That was me!! I had my first fill and I feel I was overfilled and all I ate all week was cookies, ice cream, and mashed potatoes, because they are all that will go down! I still lost weight (by miracle I suppose)

By the way, Obama isn't black. He is biracial and was raised by his white mother and his white grandparents. His father is from Kenya and was living in Kenya during most of Obama's life. -

I would vote for him...He has more integrity than any other politician that I know at this point. Of course, I am from Illinois and he is our hero. -

What's the worst thing someone said to you?
amillerjones replied to annieM's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think the worst thing that you can say to a woman is, "Are you pregnant." I always have to smile and say, "No....just fat." That is always the worst for me -
Wow!! I didn't have a doctor's appointment today; although I tried to get one because I felt like I was overfilled. Everything that I eat produces a tightness in my chest. Dr. Bonomo said that four days after the fill I will feel like nothing happened. Here it has been seven and I am still feeling the tightness. Well, I went in and got weighed and found myself at 219 pounds!!!! They said that the doctor was too backed up to see me, but I didn't even care at that point because I am at 219!! I am so glad not to be in the 220's. It's been sooo long since I could say that. I haven't even picked up the kids yet, so I have to get off of here. I was just so excited, that I had to write it out. I am at 219!!!!!! Yes!!!!!! This overfill can stay! I don't even care now!

What part of Indiana are you located? Amanda -
I was weighed yesterday and only gained 0.6 of a pound. That is not bad considering how much junk I ate over Christmas and New Years. I am not at 226.6. I had my first fill and he filled me to 6cc's. I have the big band which allows you to eat more. I am told you can go to 12cc's! He generally only fills it 5-6 for your first fill. I must need more than most because he had me filled to 6. I can tell that this is going to be a difficult process. I have problems saying no to food and can't take when junk food is in my face. Here I am supposed to be on a liquid diet and the secretary in our office broke out the cheese, crackers, and mini sandwiches and I had to have two of everything. Now I feel nausea as a result. For some reason; I always feel nausea when I eat what I am not supposed to. I just want to go home and sleep it off but I have to continue to work, then I have to go to my dad's to work on the financing for the new home, then I have to pick up the kids, then I have to feed the kids, etc. I probably won't have a chance to take a break. Well, I found that i have a new phobia-needles. I almost fainted when Dr. Bonomo stuck the needle in my port:help: . I felt so sick and he said that I was working myself up and that it is common among some to do so. Well, I am going to get going. I have a 1:00 appointment coming in soon.

Is it bad to eat food and spit it out?
amillerjones replied to Maria40's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I did this when I first had surgery and couldn't eat the foods that I wanted. Now, I actually just eat it. I haven't had any restriction lately. I don't know if I will continue this behavior once I am filled and have restriction again. -
Well, now it has almost been a month since the surgery. I am able to eat regularly, probably too regularly! I overdid it on Christmas and REALLY overdid it on New Years to the point that I felt sick. I have not threw up or anything but I have found that I eat less than I used to and I don't really binge or eat late at night anymore. I have lost a total of twelve pounds since the beginning of my weight loss journey, however, I probably gained half of that back over the holiday. I go for my first fill tomorrow and am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. I am going through so many changes right now and sometimes its difficult not to rely on food while dealing with these changes. Brian and I are in the process of buying a new home. I am stressing over getting financing ready, downpayment ready, old house sold, debating on whether to finish school, to work or stay at home with kids, dealing with the lap band, dealing with eating and drinking separately and using the band the way its supposed to be used, incorporating excercise into my schedule, being the best mother, wife, and friend that I can be, dealing with Brian being unavailable most of the week due to his occupation without using food as my crutch, wondering whether we should move as soon as we buy our new home or stick around and allow Courtney to finish up school here this semester to ease her in the transistion, etc. So many changes, so many things to think about. I am a bit overwhelmed with everything and am increasing my intake of food; especially junk food like chocolate and crackers and chips. I have to find a more productive way to deal with stress and changes. I have already lost twelve pounds and would like to continue to successfully lose the weight. I am going to continue to pray for strength during this journey of changes.
