I was banded yesterday too. I didn't sleep great last night, but the little bit I did sleep was fine since I slept on and off after getting home yesterday. Today I'm feeling pretty good. Just have some shoulder pain, I think it's from gas, but I'm going to go for a walk in a little bit so hopefully that will help. Overall, I feel really good. I took pain meds yesterday, but decided to try and just get by with Liquid Tylenol today and so far so good. I'm just so happy to have the surgery behind me. Good luck to everyone still waiting to be banded, and don't worry it's not nearly as bad as I was expecting.

I feel like I've been waiting for this day to arrive forever. In a few hours I'll be headed to the hospital for my surgery. I'm the first scheduled surgery that my doctor has. So in about 7 1/2 hours I should be ready to be banded. I'm so excited that I can't sleep. Good luck to anyone else getting banded today!

Hi, my name is Dana. I'm also scheduled for October 15. I'm so excited, but slightly nervous too. I'm just looking forward to having the surgery portion over, so I can start my new life!!

Someone posted last week that you could email Bariatric Advantage and ask for some samples. I emailed them with my info (Name, address, phone number, email) and they're sending samples including a sample of vitamins specifically for LapBand patients. I should be getting it early this week.

I went to the WLS seminar on June 15. Had my 1st doctors appointment on June 21, did the 3-month supervised diet. My surgery date is for October 15. I completed the 3-month diet in August, and was hoping to be banded in September, but my regular doctor took a little long to prepare the letter of medical necessity and that's what delayed my process.

I've finally hit the one week mark. A week from today I'll be banded! I'm a little excited and a little nervous. I'm waiting at the hospital right now for my pre admission testing. I'm just looking forward to getting everything done and starting this journey.

I'm also set for October 15. I've purchased my protein shakes already because I wanted to try them first. My doctor recommended Unjury and that's what I've been using. My doctor doesn't require a pre-op diet other than clear liquids the day before surgery. But I have been doing 1-2 proteins shakes a day and a lighter dinner.

I found it at CVS but they only had a couple of bottles. It didn't seem like they stock this item too often.

I have an appointment tomorrow to sign my consent for surgery and get all the information I need for my surgery on October 15!! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'm trying to figure out if there are any questions I should be asking. After meeting with him tomorrow, I'll contact my PCP to get medical clearance and then try to set up my pre-admission testing for Friday of this week. I can't believe it's only 12 days from my surgery date

My doctors office said if I took the Flinstones vitamins to take 2 a day. I've been taking Centrum Chewable, it's taken once a day with food. I'm not a big fan of chewable vitamins, so if anyone has found a good alternative I'd love to know about it.

I understand how you're feeling. I started this process in June and from June-September things seemed to move slow (had to do the 3 month supervised diet, which was originally to be a 6 month diet). Then once my paperwork got submitted to insurance for approval, things have moved so quick. I got approved on Tuesday, and I'm scheduled for surgery on October 15. My doctor originally said they could do surgery as early as this week, but I needed sometime to get everything together (ie. arrangements for my son on the date of surgery, pre-admission testing, etc). I'm so excited to have the surgery and start this journey, but I'm also a little nervous.

I didn't get my surgery date until after my insurance company approved the surgery, but each insurance company is different. My insurance also required a 3 months supervised diet even though my BMI puts me well above the norm. That being said, once my doctors office submitted my paperwork, I was approved in a week. Good luck, it sounds like you're on the fast-track!!
