Well I have my date to get my band on the 27th of October. I'm a little scared, but know that I will be fine. Just wondering if anyone else is getting there band done soon as well. Sorry about the titile - was supposed to be "about to get banded"

I'm in Australia. The public waiting list is for people that can't afford the operation and don't have health insurance. I know 2 yrs is a long wait, but there are alot of people like me that event though we work just can't afford the money out of our own pocket, so we go on the public waiting list and it is paid for by the Government (well out taxes really) I have taken a bit longer than some as I don't have any heath issues apart from being over weight (blood work comes back perfect as does blood preasure and ecg) so just the waiting game. But I'm nearly at the end of the wait

Well I got my date for surgery - the 27th of October. After waiting 2 yrs on the public waiting list I got the call on September 16th for my pre admission clinic on the 27th and was so surprised when they booked me in for a month later. I'm a little scared, but mainly about the Optifast diet which I need to do for 2 weeks prior, but I will just have to stick to it. I was surprised to see that some people are in and out on the same day???? They are planning on keeping me in over night and maybe a second night if I'm in pain. I want to come home to the kids asap. Well wish me luck :thumbup:
