thanks for the idea-it no longer itches but I do have some redness around the incisions. I did have the bumps as well. You lost a lot on your liquid diet wow good for you! I will try the lotion I do have an aveno oatmeal bath that may be good.

Just wondering how everyone is holding up after surgery but before their first fill. Food ideas, suggestions, anything you want to offer would be great!

I am scheduled for the day BEFORE Thanksgiving. Not sure if that is going to be good or bad although I have a small family that doesnt really celebrate very much so it should be ok. Nice to find someone (a twin) who is in the same boat as me. I also want to lose about 60 more pounds. We can do this right!!!!

When is your first fill? I feel so normal like I never even had surgery. Someone said that this is the hard part, after surgery and b4 first fill. Trying to watch what I eat too and I am definitely not eating like I was before. I seem to prefer liquid/soft stuff now. How are you feeling?

sounds like this is the hardest time after surgery and before our first fill. We can all do this. We did not have surgery to fail. We all want just a little help losing weight and the rest is up to us. Thanks for the advice and it's nice to know I am not the only one who feels like this. We all need to heal and take care of ourselves and once we get our first fill, we will have the "help" we have been needing. I was banded on the 29th as well and I am very hungry. I am trying to be prepared (have food that I am supposed to eat available) and eat several small meals during the day. I pureed some chicken last nite and added Terriaki and it was pretty good. How much have you lost so far? My weight loss has been SLOW! First fill November 24th!

Loz, I feel the same way. I was banded on the 29th and I feel like I could eat anything. I have follwed the diet good during the day at work but at night I start to get bored and want something. Last night I ate a piece of pizza and I had NO TROUBLE with it. I was so mad at myself for being over hungry and not prepared. So I went to the store pureed some chicken breat added some teriaki and it was pretty good. Need to go to the gym to keep busy-thats for sure. Well. I am back on track today with yogurt packed, Water, skim milk, sugar free pudding and am feeling pretty good. Glad to find someone who feels like me and I think a fill is going to make all the difference. Let me know what you think! Minnesota guest

I feel the same way. I don't think the band is the easy way out though. Unless we make changes to our eating and exercise habits, the band will not work. So I look at the band as just a tool. THe hard part is up to me.

6 days into liquid diet-4 more left. If I can do this I can do anything!

I feel the same way and its only been 10 days since surgery I am a bit worried. No constriction at all. I have follwed the diet almost to the t and not a lot of results (only 8 pounds lost) oh well, back at it tomorrow-just had ice cream and it went down fine

I had surgery on the 29th also and my appetite just came back today with a vengance. I have been SO ZGOOD and done exactly what I was supposed to and now I am SO HUNGRY. First fill sceduled for the day b4 thanksgiving

lost 7 pounds on the 10 day liquid diet before surgery. only 1 pound since surgery and post op appt. Kind of discouraged but I am going to weigh myself again today and HOPE for some results. I knew it was going to be slow but when I hear people who are down 25-30 pounds already, I wish I could too. I am in the full liquid staqe after a week of clear liquids:unsure:

was on full liquid for 10 days before surgery and lost only 7 pounds. Just went to my post op appt after a week of clear liquids and only lost 1 more POUND I am very discouraged. 3 weeks with no food and only lost 8 pounds??????????

It was a alot harder that I had expected although the gas pains evreyone is taking about is just NOT happening for me. Someone said a good surgeon will try and remove most of the gas? No clue about that though. Post op tomorrow excited to see how much I have lost. Hope everyone is feeling better-us late October bandsters need to stick together!

was banded on Friday NO gas pains, no hunger pains no incision pains. I feel very lucky. Going back to work tomorrow and I am a little afraid about that but time to move forward. The surgery itself was a LOT harder than I had expected. 5 Incisions covered with glue that falls off. Not being able to go pee resulting in them emptying my bladder at 3am was the worst part. Oh well, have to put all that behind me and move forward to a new life! Down 7 before surgery not sure how many now. Need a new scale!!!!!! I feel a newfound sense of HOPE and freedom. Hope everyone else does well.....

you sound just like me-went well except for the nausea. they sent me home with some medicine for that and am feeling good. One other BAD think was that my bladder wouldnt empty so they had to EMPTY it for my-HOW HORRIBLE IS THAT at 3am?????? home resting now going back to work tomorrow. no hunger at all-

I was so worried aout the 10 day liquid diet now down 7 pounds had surgery on Friday and still no feeling of hunger Maybe the since I was so nausous in the hopspital that helped Home resting now. after 4 days you really arent hungry anymore and nothing sounds good

I am just home from then hopsital and and wondering if I should try benefiber just to get things going? Still just on liquids but the pains meds are suppsed to block you up any suggestions?

my insision itch although I am only 3 days post op does everyone have 4 insisions 2 smaller ones on the side and two bigger ones in the middle?

surgery went well but had to stay in the hospital an extra day due to feeling nauseous Just got home so had procedure on Friday morning home sunday at noon. was unabke to pee which was NOT fun at all, but other that that on the road to recovery. Much harder that I though it was going to be that for sure, but everyone is different

The day had finally arrived. Tomorrow at this time I will be in surgery. So excited for this new beginning. Now I know that I can do this and now I do have HOPE. Good things are yet to come!:sneaky:

two more days til surgery anyone else on the 29th of October? 8 days into my liquid diet and I am not even hungry. I think I know why they want you to do this, so that you are commited to making a life change. I have already made so many huge changes and the best is yet to come. What a great tool we all have to get us going. People may think this is the easy way, but I KNOW this is just something that will help ME do the hard part. So excited, scared, nervous. It has taken so long to get here.......

good luck to everyone having surgery this week-I am having mine done on Friday and I am a little scared but excited.

Try caffeine for the headache. I had a really bad one day two of my 10 days of liquids b4 surgery-now I am on day 4 and feeling much better. A cup of coffee should take care of the headache and tylenol. I had to call the nurse it was so bad. Hope that helps!

just made it thru day 3 of liquids. I hope I can do this for 7 more days. Had a horrible headache last night-clled the nurse this morning and she said to try caffiene which I did and yes, it got rid of the headache! So sick of Carnation Instant Breakfast though. Tried broth and it was NOT good. Finally told my sister today and it went ok so that is a relief!
