I took several photos from all angles about 8 months ago (pre-surgery) and again about a month ago. I have them hanging on the back of my b bedroom door. I can truly appreciate the differences I see. It helps support my belief that I made the right decision having Lap Band. I think the occasional progress photo is good for me, but I am not going to obsess over them. Good luck everyone!

1. I can cross my legs. 2. I can put my fingers around my wrist 3. My "new smaller" work uniforms are getting baggy! CHEERS FOR NSV!! Good luck everyone!

I am assuming you are still in your liquid post-op phase after a liquid pre-op phase, so you probably are hungry. The trick is to satisfy the hunger with some liquid. It will get better... mine did! Good luck everyone!

I am thrilled for everyone who is having success with thier band, really, I am, but I find myself having to stop from being jealous of people who have been more successful than me at similar points in the journey. It makes me sound shallow or selfish, and I am neither. I am pleased as punch about the 54lbs I have lost so far, yet when I read about other people at the 6-7 month mark who have lost more, I get mad at myself for not being the same place thay are. I know in my head this is unreasonable, but in my heart, I am jealous and envious of those people, even though I am happy for them at the same time. My doctor is pleased with my progress. My family is happy about my changes. My friends are tickled for me. My coworkers are impressed with my results. I, most times, am thrilled, so why the envy and jealousy? Is this normal? Is there some magic mantra I can repeat to myself and make the envy go away? Thanks for listenening to me vent. I appreciate all the support I have recieved from members. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

I had my 4th fill 8 days ago and I think I have FINALLY hit my sweet spot. I simply cannot eat more than about 6 ozs of food without "complications" (as I learned, painfully, yesterday). My only fear is that it will go away like it has in the past. Fingers crossed that I don't loose this loving feeling! Good luck everyone!

Down 51 lbs., took new photo...disappointed!
KimK813 replied to Cheryl Ann's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You look marvelous! I agree with the others, though, buy some new clothes that fit. I have lost 53lbs and gone from a 22 to an 18. All I have in my wardrobe now is 18. Wearing clothes that fit makes a huge difference in how you see yourself! You are doing a brilliant job and have faith the rest will come off too! I, too, love your TARDIS! Big DR WHO fan! Good luck everyone! -
I just bought some Pure Protein bars at Wal Mart recently. They have 20g of protein but they are also 200 calories each. I keep them for that "I just need something Sweet" craving. At least I am getting something beneficial out it!

What Does Burping Mean For You?
KimK813 replied to cantdecide's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I burp ALL the time now. I do notice that if I eat too fast or too much, I burp more frequently. It's funny and embarassing at the same time! -
Panic over the stupidest thing......

Big fan of Old Navy... good prices, decent quality, cute stuff. And they go up to a size 20W. -
You've read the success stories...now read about a failure.

Please remember that the only person you can truly disappoint in life is yourself. Remember that you have a goal and refocus. Have faith in yourself, everyone else does! -
Already hit my MAIN goal after 4 months!

CONGRATUALTIONS! You should be so proud of yourself! Keep up the good work! -
Need a Little Encouragement
KimK813 replied to Heavenlei's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I decided to have LapBand, I was very nervous about telling my friends and family, but once I explained my reasons and how the lapband works, most people were very supportive. Those who weren't very supportive weren't very good friends anyway and I am happy living without them. Good luck, everyone! -
While I am not an instructor, I would like to share some advice as well. When I started going, I was very intimidated and nervous, but, introducing myself to the instructor getting fairly close, as suggested, was a great idea. I also introduced myself to classmates. The first two times I tried to go, the instructor was out sick, so I was very disheartened, but I kept going back until she showed up and I DO NOT REGRET IT! I LOVE ZUMBA! Just go at your own pace and you will pick it up. Good luck, everyone!

Way to go!!! I started going to Zumba after my surgery and I LOVE IT!!! Don't know if I will ever be good enough to be an instructor, but I could do it five nights a week if my gym offered it that much! Good luck!

My six month bandiversary is Monday, March 7th and I am 1lb away from a total of 50lbs since my highest weight in April of '09. So that got me to thinking, measuring pounds is good, but what about that BMI the docs are always harping on. So I find this link: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bminojs.htm and I checked my Highest BMI, Current BMI, and Goal BMI. Here are my results: Highest: 272lbs 48.2 BMI Current: 223lbs 39.5 BMI Goal: 165lbs 29.2 BMI I am pretty pleased with myself and thought I would share. Anyone else? Good luck everyone!

That is a GREAT idea!! I also describe the consistancy to be like sour cream, but never thought to use it in place of sour cream! Thanks for the tip!

Good for you! You should be as proud of yourself as all of are of you!

LEFT SHOULDER PAIN
KimK813 replied to dentalronna@gmail.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for all the helpful advice and words of wisdom. Tomorrow is my 6 month bandiversary and I have been dealing with left shoulder pain for about 4 of those months. It mostly happens during the day, but as I continue to loose weight, it is getting more frequent. I will be sure to address this to my doctor when I go in again on the 23rd. Good luck, everyone! -
I have not read this topic before, but I came hunting it because I just had my first "sliming" episode. IT SUCKED! I have gotten stuck a few times but have always managed to get it to pass or got it out fairly quickly. Not this time, no buddy! I started salivating uncontrollably and then the "slime" came. After a few minutes over a toilet, it was over, thankfully, but I never want to experience this again! Thanks for all the helpful advice! Good Luck, everyone!

I LOVE ZUMBA!!! I go twice a week to a class at my gym and would go more if they had more classes. I have been going for about 6 weeks now and am starting to get the steps down. A few of the soundtracks are actually some popular songs and I find myself doing the moves when the songs come on! Give a class a try, if you can. I love it! Good luck, everyone!

I also buy Chobani, but I get the plain, then add Splenda and fruit to make my own flavors. The sweetner definitely helps, but it needs the fruit too. I have found since eating the greek yogurt, I find regular yougurt too sweet now. Good luck, everyone!

Sorry, ladies, I had a taker. THanks for the interest and good luck to everyone!

I am shrinking (YEAH!) and have 4 Cacique bras from Lane Bryant in great shape that I simply cannot wear anymore. All are a size 44DD, full coverage. 2 are lace, 1 turquoise and 1 black. The other two are cotton and both white. I know Bras are not cheap in this size and just bought some new SMALLER ones, so I am giving these to anyone who can use them. Just send me a message and we'll see what we can work out. Good luck everyone! Kim
