Thank goodness! I am a coaster junkie and not being able to ride one ever again is almost too scary to think about! Good luck, everyone! -

I had my appointment yesterday. I decided on NO fill. I am glad I did, too. The NP said she would've talked me out of it. I lost 20lbs (YEAH!) since my last appointment exactly 2 months ago! I started using MyFitnessPal.com to track my calories, exercise, and Water intake and it has been a god send! Talk to the staff at your doctor's office and then make your decision. Good luck, everyone!

I have an appointment scheduled for next Wednesday and I am not sure if I should get a fill or not. I currently have 10cc in a 14cc band and some restriction. Depending on what it is, I can eat up to 2C of food, but bread, rice, and Pasta are big No-No's (they so get stuck!) I am losing between 1.5-2lbs a week, so I know I am on track, yet I still get hungry every 3-4 hours, but sometimes I cannot tell head hunger from real hunger. I finally buckled and have an appointment with a counselor, but it is after my surgeon appointment. ARGGGHHH! Advice, suggestions, experiences? HELP!! Good luck, everyone!

Feeling like a complete failure!
KimK813 replied to mynuday's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon and his staff are like cheerleaders. Even when I don't think I am doing well, they are there with poms poms going cheering me along. A doctor, of all people, should know that every person reacts differently. Maybe you should talk to him about his lack of support or even consider another doctor. You are doing a great job and should feel over the moon about your accomplishments so far! Keep up the good work! Good luck, everyone! -
I had a really hard time with this, too. One great piece of advice I got about drinking while eating was this: fill a glass with ice and only drink what melts. It usually wasn't very much but it gave me the sensation of drinking with my meal. As my fills gave me more restriction, I found it nearly impossible to drink and eat, so it's not such an issue for me now. I usually wait at least 30-45 minutes after eating to drink anything. Let me share with you what has been a HUGE help for me in making sure I get in at least 64oz a day... a bottle cozy! I picked one up at Dollar Tree and it not only helps keep my bottle cold, I carry it everywhere!!! I set it down at work the other day and within 15 minutes someone was bringing it to me because they knew it was mine. I drink flavored Water or homemade sugar free lemonade a great deal. Plain water is not my thing. I was such a Coca Cola addict prior to my surgery that my whole kitchen is decorated in Coke (it still is, I like to vibe, but I haven't had one in almost a year!) With some effort, you will make it and won't even think about from now on. Good luck, everyone!

In need of women's 18/20 clothes

Most dry cleaners offer alteration services... cheaper than new clothes or shipping! Good luck, everyone! -
Wonderful!!

Thanks for the advice. I was always told that asking for advice is getting someone to tell you what you already know. I don't think I need a fill, but I am going to work on portion control!!! Thanks again. Good luck everyone!

Losing lbs = Losing Clothes
KimK813 replied to WishUponABand's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thrift stores are a great way to go (I shop there all the time!) but I am also raiding my "skinny" friend's closets, with the promise to give it back when it gets "too big" Good -

Thinking about doing a clothing exchange?
KimK813 replied to npwilson's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Maybe if the moderators of this page are paying attention to these posts, they will add a clothing exchange forum, like "Fills" or "food and Nutrition" so we do not have to go to another site. HINT HINT!!! Good luck everyone! -

I did it! I reached my first HUGE Goal!
KimK813 replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Brilliant! Congratulations! I cannot wait to get there myself! Good luck, everyone! -
Congrats! I, too, am shrinking out of everything I own. Thankfully, I am about to "shop" my best friends closet (she loves me!) with the understanding I have to give it all back when I shrink out of it, too! Sounds like a deal to me! Good luck, everyone!

My #1 NSV goal... to buy a bra in Victoria's Secret and NOT Lane Bryant! I'll let you know when I get there! Good luck, everyone!

I fly about twice a year and usually had to ask for a seat belt extender. One of my favorite NSV was when, in March, I flew to Illinois to see my sister and nephew and I did NOT need an extender!! I am flying to DC next month on a different airline (so possibly a different make of plane) and I am looking forward to seeing how I fit in the seat! Good luck everyone!

BCBS of Alabama - State Employee
KimK813 replied to sassy k's mommy's topic in Insurance & Financing
My experience was nearly identical to Stateofzen. I was approved the same day after the 6mos of WL monitoring. I only paid $150 COPAY to the hospital and $400 to the surgeon. BCBS covered the rest! Good luck, everyone! -
BrandieLou - I am from Baldwin County. I had my surgery last September and have lost 65lbs so far. I would be more than happy to tell you about my experience so far if you want to know. I am happy that I chose to have lap band. Diet and exercise where not doing it for me either, although, you sound way more dedicated to your routine than I was to mine. Send me a message and I will be happy to give you a call, email you, hit you up on facebook, whichever you prefer. The first step is making the decision. The rest is... well, more work! Good luck, everyone!
