Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hey all. Hope all is well with you. I had my first fill at the start of the month. Didin't really do anything for me. I was already restricted still from the op. Feeling hungry these days but still can't eat a lot. Have been snacking on chocolate which is not good but it's the only think I've tried that doesn't hurt when I eat. Anyone any ideas of what I can do? Freckles so sorry to hear about your poor daughter. My thoughts are with you and your family xxx

Oops didn't see your message. I've managed to keep mine a secret too. Don't know how you have been able to. You should get a job with the secret service. Oh I've had that pain too when I tried to eat a bit of mash. This pain I'm having is a lovely addition to that and comes at random times. I actually thought my lung had punctured the other day. The pain was that sharp it caught my breath. I emailed Fred and will be getting my fill next month so will discuss it with them if I still have it. I'm still on the soup and the mushy cereal is ok at times too. Congrats again on the weight loss. That's fantastic xx

Hey Val Great to hear from you. How are you? I didn't go to work on the Monday. Was still in a lot of pain. Went back on Friday after stitches came out. Have some pain and still very restricted. Was stupid enough to try some mash and veg and suffered so bad after a couple of spoonfuls. Will be back to the homemade soup. My pain is strange. It's like a stabbing pain on my left side and it radiates up to my collar bone. Hope all is well with you. Might see you for the first fill in Feb x

Hey everyone So I'm still on the liquid diet post band surgery. Was that fed up with it that I decided to have some mash and pureed veg. Bad idea. I thought I was dying after a few bites. 've never felt anything like that before. It was weird. I also have this terrible stabbing pain just above the left side of one of the incisions. It's over the incision and then hits my collar bone. Is this normal? Went to my doc to get my stitches out the other day. She was amazed by my trip to Belgium and was very supportive. When I was with her another doc was calling from the same surgery asking if she knew anything about lap band surgery. Another patient is thinking of getting it done in Blackrock and it's costing €21,000!!! Does anyone know if I have to book an appointment for a fill in Dublin or can you just walk into the clinic without one? Oh and does anyone know when Fred is back?

Thanks Charlene and Slinky. Just changed my dressings earlier. Was sore after. Will feel better when the stitches are out. When did you go back to work? I'm not sure if I should go in on Monday. My job is quite heavy at times and am worried that the stiches will burst

Well I am back from my op in Brussels. Met some lovely people over there. Hospital was spotless and Chris and Fred were so nice. Was in a lot of pain after the surgery, mainly full of gas. Feeling better today although still a bit tender. Thankfully most of the trapped wind has gone. I wasn't expecting to be in so much pain. I instantly regretted having the op when I woke up in pain. But I am assured that this is a common thread amongst everyone that has had it done. For those who are in the process of going for surgery be sure to bring something for trapped wind in liquid form and try and walk around as that realy helped me. Stock up on fluids when you get there as I was very de-hydrated post op. You will be in pain but it's only a temporary thing. I'm so glad the surgery is over and I can now begin the real journey

Ah that's a shame but at least you're getting it done so that's the main thing. Are you going on your own? My friend is coming with me. She had hers done this year so she can look after us if you're on your own. I'll look out for you in the hotel. I'm getting the afternoon flight so will get over there at 4ish

Hey honeybelle that's crazy money. you should book direct and cancel with them. it only costs €4150 for the same package. If you mail Dr Chris or Frederik they may have the same date and can book you in for way less than you paid the middleman. They keep that profit and all they do is book with Dr Chris. What date are you heading over? I'm going January 10th

Thank you for the welcome Freckles. It's great to have a place like this. And thanks Slinky for the email address. I mailed him tonight. That's terrible what happened to you Corkgal. I hope you get your money back and wish you well. I'm only starting my journey to getting the band done. It's hard to know who you're dealing with but at least here you'll hear the truth from real people

Hey Thanks for the info. A friend of mine went with Dr Chris and she was very happy. I sent off my information to europesurgery.co.uk a few minutes ago. Can't remember the other site I had emailed earlier. They rang and said that I would get an email tomorrow so will see how much that costs and compare the 2. Is that the site you used?

Hey all. I'm a newbie and am in the process of making some big life changes. I've contaced a couple of places in in Ireland about gastric banding but they were way too expensive. I've heard a lot about Dr De Bruyne and Dr Focquet. Is there a difference between either surgeons? I've not heard much about Dr Focquet but he was recommended to me by a contact person that I had emailed about surgery in Brussels. If there's anyone that could pass on some information on packages and procedures I would be very greatful. I'm hoping to go in January as it's the only chance I have to go due to educational committments. Congratulations to all of you who have had the procedure. Here's hoping I will have similar success in the future. Looking forward to hearing from someone x
