    Band to sleeve - reflux

I had reflux with LB to poi t where I've vomited in my sleep. 10wks rvsn toVSG no reflux. But doc also has me in 40mg ER of Prilosec daily
  3. My revision. Was done in one procedure on 8/31/17. My surgeon predicted 45 min for everything and I woke up in my room and family told me took 2. 5 hrs. Had so much scar from band collar and esophagus was torn. And I had a very experienced surgeon and he told surgeon who put in my band placed the collar too high on esophagus. Not to scare you but it really depends on what they find when they get inside. My doc didn't anticipate any complications because I was healthy and other than band being too tight, had no other complaints!

How do I know if I'm eating too much

I also struggle with eating and drinking at same time. I eat, then immediately want to drink something [emoji30].

How do I know if I'm eating too much

I'm 10 wks out from LB to sleeve and I wonder same thing. I feel Like I can eat too much. Not all the time but a couple of times I got hiccups and 2 other times I got a tummy ache. I do not count calories. I try and focus on my protein and fluid Intake. I am trying to do a ketogenic (Keto) diet, which I discussed with my nutritionist.
  6. And you're right it is stupid. I have to sit 6 months gaining weight, getting depressed, knees and joints aching, blood pressure up etc then I finally qualified
  7. I just got revised and unfortunately had to qualify all over again! Doc saw I was losing weight and said to stop and also no preop diet. Bmi had to get to 35, then of course knees hurt etc in order to justify them paying for it! I met a lady who said she had to fight for years to get them to cover her revision
  8. Also I drank vitamin water zero, Lipton diet iced green tea, a gazillion sugar free popsicles :-) and also hot ginger tea.
  9. It does get better. Talk to your doc about nausea medicine. They sent me home with zofran prescription. He did not want me vomiting and heaving. Also I've heard that some people can tolerate drinking broth or crystal light versus plain water. You must get in at least 48-64 oz of fluid. I'm 10 wks post op and stopped zofran about 3 wks ago

    Concerns with gaining

The other thing that I was told by surgeon if that revision patients lose way slower than a person who just got sleeve with no WLS prior

    Revision pre-op diet

Depends in bmi. Doc told me no because my bmi was right on border

    Week out and hunger pangs!

I think it's head hunger. The growling I believe is just digestive track functioning. I'm a band to sleeve revision on 8/31. I want so bad to chug a bottle of cold water etc but that's a bad habit I had prior to surgery being a guzzler. I eat popsicles excessively to keep from from wanting to drink and large glass of anything I also started sucking on sugar free jolly ranchers

    Failed Lapband

Just went from band to sleeve in one operation. 8/31. It was rough! Doc said so much scar tissue be bad to maneuver through and he's a surgical pioneer and professor in Bariatrics

    Long Term Results?

I'm in fence about it. Just got converted to sleeve and there was so much scar tissue from the band..... surgeon says they are now finding that long term bands are no good. Don't get me wrong I know people who Have been successful. I had mine 7 hrs and just for converted
  16. I'm officially in the August sleeve gang as of yesterday. Had revision of band to sleeve and what was expected to be an hour became 2. BNd either erode into stomach or surgeon aid in trying to retrieve poked small who in esophagus area near stomach which had to be hand sewn. So absolutely no liquids not even ice chips until after swallow test. I'm so thirsty but they're not. Budging. Sleeve was well done. Just have to get over stomach hurdle. Any one else run into smilie snags or complication?
  17. I like the protein2o waters from Amazon prime. Got my gym to start carrying them.

    Any August 2017 Sleevers?

I have surgery on the 31st. I'm a band to sleeve revision but this is still a. If step
  20. The multi is 2 per day, cal is about 6 per day.
  21. I chew celebrate. Yes they are big but they aren't unbearable. Flintstones etc are for kids and don't give us what we need. But I guess for those who can't tolerate the others it's better than nothing. I do the celebrate comp with iron. I just bought the cal citrate plus D and I chew neocell biotin chews
  22. Also they had to look at multiple things like I was vomiting from band being too tight, weight loss was from vomiting and a lot of exercising along with inability to eat. I have port pain, unsteady weight as it goes up and down. Also having other joint issues etc
  23. I'm in that position and just got approved through a rigorous process. I've gained half my weight back. My bmi is 37 now so I qualify. But a few months ago when I was down to 190,, I didn't qualify
  24. Looks like they don't cover open lap band or VSG surgeries, whether they are laparoscopic or open procedures. They probably cover the bypass or other similar. It depends on the persons policy. My policy covers but it's a whole bunch of hoops to jump through and u have to go through their BariatricPal program. So it varies
  25. Not sure of the context in which you're getting this info and I've never heard of insurance company telling a physician which technique they pay for. And the technique varies that I understand from my surgeon. If they can't get in laparoscopic due to extreme belly fat or other medical/health conditions they do open procedure which takes them longer and it's a longer hospital stay. And often they don't know until they get you in the OR most times
