  1. Hey girl! You are doing amazing!! And i mean it! I am 20 months out and only lost 66 so far. It is hard I totally understand. Here u are 50 pounds down in a year! I'm loving it! You are doing better than me, and I don't feel like bad about it. Everyday I get closer and closer to my goal weight a pound at a time. So just think like that. You eat good, workout and it will pay off. Just takes time. Just think , this time next year u will be your goal weight. You got this!! I know u do! :D

  2. feel that at 199 is isn't as hard to lose weight as if u are 250-plus as someone 199 pounds. People can move easier, there for lose weight. I'm at 194 and very happy. I wouldn't never get the surgery at this weight, it is a life changing and it has risks. But even with 190's I am still big and unhealthy weight, I feel I can do this.. lose this weight, so that's why i can say I wouldn't get this surgery at this weight, b/c I'm there 194. feel that at 199 is itsn't as hard to lose weight as if u are 250-plus as someone 199 pounds. 3.

I finally had my surgeon consult today. My insurance does not require any supervised weight loss, but the Surgeon's program requires 3 months and the psych eval. That's all behind me. I'm going to pick the Lap Band over the Realize band. I asked about the 2 week liquid diet, and he says he does not require it, and that it is (and I quote) "Not advantageous to the patient" He stated that he has done lapbands laproscopically on 600lb patients and he has the tools to move a large liver out of the way, so he isn't worried about it. He told me not to GAIN any weight and still TRY to lose, but no liquid diet is required. Anyone else hear of this?

 Hey there, I sis the 14 day diet. It was u can eat anything that goes in a salad but not eggs or bacon, stuff like that, And steamed or raw vegs, and broths. and Protein shakes with skim milk. and plain yogurt. And the 24 hour before sugery u can't eat nothing, And then for 5 days after u can only eat stuff that is clear., so Jello, broths, pickerels, hard sugar free Candis. yep, that is what i am on now, I can't wait to be back to eating the salad stuff again., But i got banged the 8th of this month. and i'm 2 days out. do 3 more to go.

  4. Well I got the call today from the insurance specialist at my surgeon's office as well as from the case manager from BCBS stating that I have been approved! It feels like I've been waiting forever - just over two weeks (with Thanksgiving in there too). I'm SO glad to have finally got it set in stone. I go in next Wednesday (12/15) for all my pre op tests. I start my preop diet next Monday. And my OFFICIAL surgery date is 12/27 - WOOHOO! That means my surgery is covered 100% - my out of pocket for the year is met (why I was pushing so hard for an approval). YAY YIPPEE! So excited! :D

That is Great! I know I was the same way when i got mine. I just got my lap-band 12/08/2010, So two days ago. I'm so glad it is over with. The 14 day pre-op diet was hard at first. But the 24 hour before not eating was worse. NOW.. I'm on the 5 days of Clear liquids is getting to me. Jello, sugar free popsicles, broth, are my only foods.. :( But I'm just getting grumpy , last meal i eat was Thanksgiving.. yep.. Man. Anyhoo I'm glad i got it and you will be too. 11 pounds down since 11/24/2010. So the pre-op diets really get the losing started, :-)
