    No Support!

When I told my boss about it he said "So you admit you over eat" then followed up with "Instead of the surgery why don't you just try eating the amounts you can with the band and see how that works" GEE why didn't I think of that duh!!

    One Day Post-Op Problems

Don't worry most of us go through it. I consider myself mentally strong to. Even after the evaluation, he said I am above normal. What ever that means. lol But for 2 days after I was depressed and wanted it out. Finding this site is what helped me to know I wasn't the only one and I had "friends" out there going through it with me.
  4. I have the bruise on my lower one also. I think the itching may be due to a reaction to the tape. I kept the bandage on 2 of them longer and those are the two that itch aroung the incision. Will talk to him Monday. What is the scrambled egg and cheese in microwave recipe it you don't mind sharing. Monday is my big day to graduate.
  5. Hi Brenda, Glad to hear you did ok. I had pain where the port is for the first week. Seemed worse at night when I was trying to sleep. Now the area's are SO itchy making me nuts. I think I was having a problem with the tape. Keep us updated. Pam
  6. I just bought the protein powder at stop and shop and mixed it in my CIB don't even notice and drink it though out the day. I can only drink about 1/3 of it at a time. This evening I made cream of wheat and made it alittle to thick and felt it sticking for over and hour so you are not alone.
  7. I had kind of the same problem with to much swelling and they keep me on clear liquids for 4 extra days. I had my surgery on 9/14/10 and the next day I couldn't even take my liquid pain meds. All I could do was sip my water and they were very small sips Saturday PM I tried the CIB shake and could drink about 4 oz over an hour. Every day has gotten better. Today I finished a yogurt big step compared to last week. Hope this helps and let me know how you are doing.
  8. I had a few small set backs after surgery which were really not that bad only it seemed worse because all these people I talked to before my surgery were all great after there surgery and I wasn't so I did get a little down after. But then I found this forum and heard others having the same issue's so I felt so much better and it really helped me. My husband has been a great help around the house, only if he would stop eating reese's peices infront of me all the time. He has no weight problem and I realize he can't go with out everything for me so we are adjusting. You can do this and you will feel so much better and I am sure your Father will come around as he see's you feeling better about your self.
  9. I just joined and had my surgery done last week. Found this sight so helpfull, and everyone supportive. My husband was not happy about the surgery but only because he was worried about the whole thing. But I didn't tell many people because when I did they all had there opinions and I realized I didn't want to hear them. They don't know what we go through being overweight. So I would just keep your Mom updated and only talk to positive people about it. You can do it good luck.
  10. Yeah Shelly, glad to hear you did so well. Keep us updated.

    Banded today (9/20/10)

I had the same problem post surgery. Could only take tiny sips of water and wait for it to go down. My Dr. said my stomach was irritated and give it a few days. Every day got better had it 9/14/10 and by Saturday I was able to drink more. Sunday I started Cream of Wheat and that went down ok.

    Banded 8/31/10

Hi glad to hear you doing better. I had mine done on 9/14/2010 and everyone I talked to made it sound so easy. A friend had it the month before and was so happy and upbeat and no problems. I had to much swelling and could hardly get anything down till Saturday. I think I was expecting mine to go as well as everyone else I had spoken to, that I got very depressed. Not sure if I did the right thing. Questioning my self. I has been a week now and am starting to feel much better. Never knew strained cream of chicken soup could be so good.

    new one!

Hi Angie, I am new here too. Just had mine done on 9/14/2010 and found this is the greatest site to help you get through it. So many answers to all your questions and everyone is helpfull.
  14. Banded 9/14/2010. Still adjusting but getting better everyday. I found this site on Friday and thanks to everyone here it has answered so many of questions and made me feel so much better that I am not alone in this journey.
  15. Hello all!! I had my band on 9/14/10. Was so excited to have it and right after had different issues that had me doubting if I did the right thing, and was getting depressed. Then I found this site and it was so helpfull, answered many of my questions and made me realize there are alot of people feeling like I did. So thank you all. I do have a question I can not find in the thread search engine. For the last 2 nights I wake up with pain in my legs, both legs, worse when laying on my side on that leg. Feels kind of like cramping. Not the calf muscle cramps have had those in the past. Not like RSL don't feel the need to HAVE to move them. Just move them because they ache and the pain is mainly upper legs. When I get up they are fine. I will call the Doctor tomorrow just wondering if anyone else has experenced this post surgery?
  16. Had my surgery on Sept 14. The pain was not to bad. But seeing as I am never the normal. They did the barium swollow the next morning and I was the one out of the 5 he did that my stomach was irritated from the surgery and the barium barely made it though, so I had to stay on clear liquids for 4 more days. Got home and tried to take the 2 tbsp of tylenol and that didn't go well. So avoided pain meds. Did have the gas pain. Today is a better day. Started strained cream of chicken soup. Never knew it tasted so good. All I can say is I am so thankfull for this web site it made me realize I am not alone and others have these issues. I spent the first 2 days post surgery very depressed because eveyone that had it before me at the Dr.s were like it was fine no problems. So I kept questioning myself if I did the right think. So thank you all for your posting about your surgery the good and the bad that can happen, it has been so helpfull.
