? for those that had a port
ptoezee replied to ptoezee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for clarifying for me...It was a *drain* and it did come out before she left the hospital, its just that *dip* that looks weird...and Im wondering if they wont let her move onto anything other than clear liquids until that *dip* is gone??? 4-6wks on clear liquids seems crazy to me....but I understand all doctors are different and have their own ways of doing things.... She is doing GREAT, and Im so proud of her, you can already tell a huge difference in her -
I have a question from anyone who had a port for the surgery? Did it leave a *dip* in your stomach? My sister just had this done, and she has this *dip*..its getting better, she is almost 4 wks post op now.....also, I know all drs have different post op diets, but, she has to be on Clear liquids for at least 4 wks, and then she is to call at 4 wks and they will tell her if she can go to stage 2 foods...like the puddings and such... went to a different dr and my post op diet was 1 wk clear liquids, 1wk solid liquid, then puree'd and so on...iit seems to me to be a bit drastic to have to do 4 possibly 6wks of clear liquids, especially when things are going GREAT for her....or are they going to wait till that *dip* goes away before she is able to progress?? she was told that they had to put a stictch in a muscle or somthing to that effect and that is what caused the dip? Im just curious if anyone else ever had anything like that too? Thanks

Question for Further Along Sleevers
ptoezee replied to dimples509's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In 2 days Ill be 4 months out (wow, it seems like its been longer ) Anyway, I still sip because if I dont, I get in trouble. I dont throw up, but I get a queezie stomach for a few seconds....But as far as a straw goes....I LOVE drinking through straws....Thats really the best way to keep me from drinking too fast, it really helps me. Now, the dr has not told me I cant use it, I'm not real sure on the reasoning as to why you cant, or if you really arent supposed to, I dont know, but I do it ALLLL the time! Best of luck to you...You're going to love your sleeve! -
Ok, in two days Ill be four months post op and get this.....Since my surgery I have had my cycle 4 times...I mean like clock work!!!! I *might* if I was lucky, have one a year if that before hand, now every flipping month!!! I went through all sorts of things to get my twins and now here I am cycling like a normal person. Question , does/will this continue or am I just being fooled??? I just cant see me getting on BC because you tend to gain weight and thats NOT what I want to happen....Im just really at a loss right now as to what to do. Im just so used to not worrying about anything and now....well, ya know....time to start paying attention.... And BTW....Im down 80#s totaly, 60 since Dec 14th, 2010!!! In size 14 pants!!!!! Woooo Hoooo....Go me, Go me, Go me

3 months post op and question...
ptoezee replied to ptoezee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I still have my gall bladder....and Im waiting for the stool softener to kick in to see if it will help. to be perfectly honest, it is already a bit easier then it was earlier....but still uncomfortable...this is just crazy!!!!! -
Ok, Im 3 months out, and at least once a week maybe twice I take a stool softener to keep things moving....and there are times when my left, lower side hurts, and going to the bathroom makes it go away. Well, this morning, my right, lower side has sstarted hurting and cramping enough to take my breath away at times can this also be related to having to go to the bathroom? Im not running a fever, it is just, I started to say uncomfortable, but no, it hurts

Anyone who has PCOS... (TMI)
ptoezee replied to Infernored's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its really funny you should mention this! I have PCOS and have had terrible trouble conceiving. I had my first when I was much younger, but it was right after I got off the pill....then took me many years of trying again....after many drs and thinking if one more doctor told me I was fat and stressed I would strangle them!!!!! I finally got pg after seeing a fertility dr.... My periods are very very irregular!!! I might have one or two a year.......Fast forward last year. I had my surgery on Dec 14th....w/n two weeks my cycle started, this was after loosing almost 25#s....then the first part of Feb...guess what...there it is again!!! Talk about shocker!!!! Now Im waiting to see what March is going to bring!!! Im now 60#s lower.....I just have to be careful because I would be afraid to get pg so soon after surgery ya know! Its just crazy how our bodies react.... -

Don't drink Water too fast!!!! No matter how thirsty you are, or how good it tastes!!!!! I know this, I know this, I know this, but I still drink it too fast sometimes..arrgggg....and I pay for it when it goes down and really makes me queezie for a few...... And what is the deal with NOT drinking from a straw??? I love drinking from a straw and sometimes it is soo much easier...just cuious -
Thanks everyone...I have to say I think it was mainly because I was dehydrated....although I never got it checked out, but now Im feeling much much better, able to drink fluids better and like Im supposed to and now I dont have the episodes like I was having...It was bad for a few days....I know bad of me for not getting it checked...Im just thankful that it worked itself out. I keep a bottle of Water with me at all times now! Oh, and Im 7wks post op and down 30#s since surgery, 49#'s over all....so not too shabby!
