as you know, every doctor is different. But my dr. says that your stomach should not be rumbling. I have found that that "rumbling" and "gurgling" was literally just my bowels working. i asked the nurse, and she even said that your bowels start as high as almost by the chest. every time you hear or feel that, it does not mean you're truely hungry, and i have found that to be true. I hope that makes sence. But i do have trouble with head hunger. if I had control, i wouldnt be overweight in the first place lol.

The same thing happened to me. two-three weeks after surgery my weight yo-yoed at the same 3 lbs up and down. Now is the time where you have to really work at it. Start exercising even if its just walks up and down the block, or what I did was get dancing games for the wii...since i have lost another 10lbs. Also, once you get a fill the weight will come off easier. Good luck i hope everything works out for you!

Hey all. I need some advice. I'll be a month post-op wednesday and am still on mushies/semi solid foods. I feel really good and have lost 30lbs from pre-op diet and a week after in the hospital. But ever since I've been home I only lost another 3lbs or so. I'm having a hard time transitioning from mental eating to only eating when im hungry. I watch the clock to see when the next time I can eat is. it's sick, I know, but I cant help myself. Even when i'm not starving i'll eat every 2 hours. my dr said thats what i'm supposed to do, but I feel guilty because I eat even when I'm not hungry, just because theres something that I want to eat or because its just sitting in the fridge. did you guys go through this? and how did you correct it?

So I'm 4 weeks post op today...and I can pretty much eat anything at any time. I have no liquid in the band, so is that like normal? i still get very full on very little but im hungry again within anywhere from 1-3 hours later. I havent tested fate too much, just can handle white meat, pasta, and bread-3 things that are known to get stuck. will this always be the case or will it be different after fills? Thanksss.

Hey. I need some advice. My mom got out of surgery at 12, and is still in recovery because her blood pressure is very low. They think shes also dehydrated. is this semi normal? has this happened to anyone else? please let me know. im trying not to freak out but i cant help it.

So I had my surgery a week from tomorrow and I am still in the hospital. 6 days I'm going crazy! I can't get anything liquid down and they can't send me home bc then ill just get dehydrated. But I'm nauseous 24-7 and dry heaving. Has this ever happened to anyone? Id really like some advice. Thanks! Also the videogram said everything was flowing fine. They even tried taking some Fluid out of the band but still feeling gross.

tomorrows the day!! I'm excited, and kinda nervous, but kinda not. The CMAs are on tomorrow night, so thats how im keeping myself focused to get through the surgery haha. Clear liquids today consists of italian ices. and they can be regular, sugary ices. I havent had one of these in so long because even when I wasnt preparing for surgery, i never had the regular ices because I was always trying to loose weight. still dont know what time i'm supposed to be there by tomorrow, wish I knew so i could plan around that. oh well. good luck everyone ♥ I know we'll all be great!!

ah the same thing happened to me! im pretty resistant going to psychologists to begin with, but i went in with an open mind. as soon as we sat down she started going on and on about how i cant do this, how ill never be able to eat my favorite things again, how i wont be able to enjoy things ive never even tried before (because im young) and basically trying to talk me out of it. I was appalled, needlessto say and I never went back. She cleared me and i ranted for a few days but all in all it was just another hurtle thrown at me. Dont get discouraged. you know that inside you really want this, so dont let anyone freak you out, not even yourself! good luck! :] My surgery is tomorrow

What was a typical meal day for you on your liquid diets before the surgery? How many weeks, and how much did you/have you lost? I'm on day 4 of the liquid diet and am so hungry, I feel like im doing something wrong. I've lost 7 lbs which I'm extremely happy about, but i'm hoping I can loose at least 3 more, if not more :] Thanks!

so im scheduled for surgery the 10th, exactly a week from tomorrow. And guess what? i have a bladder infection. But no, not just any bladder infection, but a severe infection that has to be taken care of before surgery. Now they're talking about rescheduling, which means months later, because my doctor is a very busy man. ughhhhhhh. please pray for me that everything turns out ok.

So I was wondering what would be some good meals for after surgery when I can eat normal foods again. lol. my dr. said that I should eat Protein first, then veggies, then carbs if im still hungry. so my question is do you have any favorite recipes? Thanks!

Hey! I'm getting banded on november 10th as well! My doctor has me on a liquid diet with 4 meal replacement protiene shakes a day, and 2 other meals such as soup, broth, pudding, crystal light, etc. That starts on November 3rd but I'm starting the first. As for this week, I'm doing my own little diet, consisting of drinking a protiene shake for breakfast and eating something small and healthy every two hours to keep my metabolism up, and I've totally illiminated carbs. It's actually been easy, but then again it's only the second day lol. Drs give you a specific diet to shrink the fat in the liver, to reduce complications during surgery. Every little bit helps! My surgery is that day as well! I'm starting to cut out the carbs and eat as little as possible, and healthy. But I overdid it a little and was feeling dizzy :/ it's a learning process I guess, and once im banded I wont be as hungry! Finally both my mom and I got surgery dates!! I'm on November 10th and my mom is on November 17th I'm so excited to start this new journey with her. I just hope no more setbacks occur! :drool:

Often, when i'm busy or forget to eat for a couple of hours, I get really dizzy and my legs and hands shake until I eat, yet my stomach doesnt growl. I get so hungry and shakey that I have to stop what I'm doing and eat right then. Will the band stop that feeling, and let it be known that i'm hungry in a less suble way? I know ill probably have to plan my meals but in a case where I cant. Thanks :biggrin:

oh god, don't wish for sleep apnea. It's terrible. I just found out I had it a couple of months ago and a lot of drs told me that they weren't going to clear me for surgery until at least a month on the cpap. Thankfully, my dr. was cool and cleared me anyway, but the mask is uncomfortable and I cant seem to get used to it. And if you do have sleep apnea, and do not use the machine during surgery, the food from the band can sit in your esophogus and you can inhaleit into your lungs if you're not careful. Just besafe and good luck with everything. I'm waiting on my insurance company as we speak!

Thanks. I've been tested for low blood pressure/glucose...my blood work has always been fine, but i'm almost positive thats whats happening. I'll talk to my dr. and see what he says. Thank you for the advice :]
