    Starting to regret my decision...

I had my surgery on Tuesday the 28th and I know exactly what you're going through cause that was me about 3 days ago. I was in unbearable pain and couldn't help but cry and feel wicked depressed. I felt disgusting and didn't even want my boyfriend to look at me because I felt like a monster. All that went through my head was that none of this was going to be worth it, I thought I was wrong, that I took the easy way out and that no one would understand why I did what I did. But after another day of coping and giving myself some me time I realized it was all going to be worth it in the end that I was doing this to better myself and that this is just another part of the journey. Best of luck to you! :smile2:
  2. I'm 4 days post-op and last night was the first night sleeping laying down. I changed back and forth between back and side lying but it wasn't bad as long as it was my left side I was laying on. Tonight will be my first night back in my own bed so I'm hoping that'll go well. :smile2:

    Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!

I was banded on Tuesday, September 28th and I'm down an overall 21 lbs since the pre-op diet. In my opinion, it's so far so good. I'm keeping up with fluid goals and experimenting with as many soup broths as I can. No matter how many different flavors I can find I'll be relieved to move on to full fluids and add a little more variety to the menu. :smile2:
  4. I'm originally from Connecticut but moved to Rhode Island about 2 years ago. I'm a director of senior services for a home health care agency as well as a full time student studying occupational therapy.

    Hello From CONNECTICUT

I used Dr. Ehrlich out of Trumbull, he's amazing. He worked with me over the past year to get me to where I am and I couldn't be happier. I had some health concerns which required another surgery before I was able to get the lap band done but he stuck by me through out it and he's the reason I am where I am today. Best of luck to you!

    Feeling so down today!

Your story is pretty much identical to mine. I was banded Tuesday the 28th as well and so far it's been hell. I'm not hungry but I'm forcing myself to take down fluids and liquid protein in order to reach my daily target and it makes me feel sick. I'm staying at my parents' house with my boyfriend and he tries so hard to help but he just doesn't understand what I'm going through. While him and my parents are eating delicious fat filled food I'm sipping on some chicken broth trying not to get sick. I'm overly emotional and snapping at everyone who's trying to help me. I wish I could just fast forward to stage 5 and start eating, start living life again, but I can't and it's somewhat discouraging. I pray and pray that I've made the right choice but days like today make me wonder otherwise. Hopefully it will get better, for all of us. Best of luck to you and your husband, you're lucky to have such an amazing support system!

    Heartburn?

I'm almost 2 days post-op and have the worst heartburn feeling but I'm not taking in anything that would cause it, any ideas what it is or what I could do? My doctor put me on Aciphex to treat acid and gastroesophageal reflex but apparently it's not working.

3 days post op and all I want is water!

I'm pretty much the same way I was banded Tuesday (9.28.10) and so far I've been drinking water and sometimes add crystal light. I've had about 2 bouillion cubes but other then that water's been my "best friend" and even that I don't have a desire for, I'm always feeling full.

    Hello From CONNECTICUT

I'm from CT as well. I've relocated for the time being to RI for school but everything is still back in CT, including my surgeon. I was banded yesterday morning (9.28.10) and so far so good. How about yourself?

    September Bandsters!

I was banded just yesterday and I'm extremely sore just as well. I have an awful gas pain that won't go away but I found out it's only air so hopefully it'll pass soon. And I have one incision that's bigger then all the others, it's in the middle part of my abdomen closest to the port. It looks awful and I'm quite embarrassed by it, hopefully once the swelling goes down and it starts to heal it won't look so bad. But I know what your going through pretty much down do the t. Best of luck to you!
  12. You could call me a newbie for sure considering I'm only 7 hours post-op. My surgeon said I took well to the procedure and I was doing amazing well and that it was up to me whether I did or didn't want to stay in the hospital. I wanted to stay for a little but, just not over night. So, after a second round of pain killers, some "food" and a walk down the hallway to make sure I was stable I was able to be discharged. I'm home now and resting up, continuing with my 30cc of fluid per 15 minutes minus the times I'm dozing off but so far so good. :smile2:

    T-minus 5 hours

First off let me introduce myself. My names Brittney-Allyse and I'm 21 years old and I'm getting banding tomorrow (9.28.10) morning. It's been one hell of a two weeks but it's coming to an end and I'm ready for the next step. It's been a long process to get me to where I am, starting back in November 2009. I had everything ready and was about to set a surgery date until I got a call from my surgeon's office stating that they had found an abnormally large cyst that was to be taken care of before I could get banded. After test, doctor's visits I finally had the cyst removed and was one step closer to this procedure. Now, almost a year later my surgery date is here and I'm ready to change my life for the better.
