  1. Happy 33rd Birthday Dandy!

  2. I haven't talked to the doctor yet, of course, but from everything I've read I found that I would be a candidate because I have health factors along with the BMI of 35 or above. I have extremely high blood pressure. It's under control, but only with medication. I also suffer from sleep apnea. Thanks for your info! It's sounding better and better.
  3. Oh well. That makes me feel better. Thanks!!
  4. Wow! That's not a lot of liquids! That would be the only thing I'd have trouble with I'm afraid. In fact, that scares me a little.
  5. I'm just starting to really research to see if being banded will be right for me. I am curious as to how much Fluid you can intake? I'm a huge drinker. Not alcohol, but juices, Water, and tea. I'm not huge on carbonation, but from time to time I like Sprite. I could go without Coke for the rest of my life if I needed to, but I can't go without drinking large volumes of water or juice throughout the day. For instance, today I've had 3 16oz glasses of tea, glass of apple juice, and probably 16oz total of fresh water. I've had my sugar levels checked, so I know my thirst isn't related to being diabetic. I've been this way my whole life. I just thirst. Any feedback on your post-op drinking ability would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  6. WOW! Thank you so much for the quick reply and for answering all those questions! Your reply makes me feel even more confident about having this procedure done. Thank you so much! Congrats on your loss!!!
  7. Hello everyone!!! I'm so excited to be here. I have been discussing lap band with my husband for quite some time now and I think we've finally decided to investigate it further and possibly take the big leap. I work full time as a pharmacy technician and stand on my feet 8 hours a day...no sit down time ever. So, I worry about the recovery time. I also only get a weeks vacation time and I assume I will need to use that time for my recovery. I had to have emergency gallbladder removal 3 weeks ago and missed a week of work due to that already! What incisions are made? What are the days of recovery like? Back to work in a few days? Able to lift a 2 yr old soon after? What are "fills" and what recovery time is needed after having one? :xena_banana: I'm full of questions and see that if I look around here I'm sure to find answers. Thought I'd post and introduce myself anyway. I look forward to spending lots of time here and getting on with this "adventure"! :clap2:
