October 2010 Bandsters!!
Grams replied to Sarah71407's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good morning everyone, could anyone explain to me how to add the ticker tape to my postings. I'm tech challenged but they look so cute. Hope everyone who is banded is healing nicely. 4 more sleeps for me. I don't seem to be losing anymore on my pre-op so that's a little scary. I'm just going to have faith:crying:. -

Can you get your protein shakes in chocolate? I make mine with hot water and it makes a great hot chocolate! It might help the cravings. Good luck. -

A big hug and thanks to everyone reporting in about the surgery. The unknown is always scarier than the reality. It sounds like you are all doing great and I can't wait until we're all racking up the number of lbs lost. Maybe we can chart how much we've lost together as we go. 5 more sleeps!!! -

OK did anyone else screw up bad on their pre-op? I have done 15 days perfectly and last night I started thinking about the things I would never likely have to eat again and panicked and went on a binge, a chocolate bar a bag of swedish berries 3 handfuls of cashews and 2 slices of rye bread with butter. As I type this I can't believe I did it. I still have 6 days until surgery to undo the damage but seriously how could I get this close. I am definitely going to get counselling for food addiction when this is over. -

A great grandchild! You are truly blessed. I agree let's get this over with. I want a more normal life back. My 2nd week of pre-op only took off one freaking pound. What's with that? 7 more sleeps for me:w00t:. -

My nutritionist recommended 3 weeks for post menopausal women so I am on day12 tomorrow. I can't believe I have stuck to it. I was down 10 lbs on day 7, waiting until day 14 to weigh again. Mine was a tough one just 2 shakes 1 bar and 2 cups vegetables per day and diet drinks water and coffee. Looking forward to some variety even if it's just mushy. I forget, when is your surgery? -

Turning 63 3 days after surgery! All these years of struggling can finally be over. I guess I wasn't ready before but I sure am now. I should have done this 20 years ago. Grams:thumbup: -

Who knew... I could survive on 2 shakes, 1 bar, and 2 cups of veggies per day for 9 days!!!! I must admit tonight I really want to eat but at this point, I'm 1/2 way tomorrow, I think I need to prove to myself I can do it. My surgery is on the 12th and I can't wait to get some help, also pudding and yogurt sound mighty good to me right now. So far I'm down 10 lbs preop with 11 days to go. Good luck to everyone having their surgeries starting tomorrow. Our treat this Halloween will be a new start. Grams -
Good to hear I'm not the only Grandma. I turn 63 3 days after my surgery, an early birthday present to myself. I'm on day 8 pre-op diet and can't wait to get started. All the best to you too. We can do it! Grams

Hooray another 60 something and an October bandster too. I'm 63, my surgery is Oct.12, and I'm not a southern belle, I'm from Canada. I am on day 8 of the pre-op diet and can't wait to be banded. Grams -
I hope so I'm 63 and will be banded on Oct.12. Looking forward to this new chapter in my life. Grams

Hi all, I am a 63 yr old Grandma who is happy to be a part of your group. I am on day 3 of my 3 week pre-op diet and will be banded on Oct 12 at the Maples Clinic in Wpg. Man. My personal goals are to lose 75 lbs and become physically fit. Putting on socks without huffing and puffing will be a sure sign of success for me. Do I wish I had done this sooner, you bet, is it too late for me, no way! Have been reading the posts while i made my decision, and now hope to help inspire others to take control of their weight. Grams I am fairly certain that given a cape and a really nice tiara I can change the world!

Thanks! Day 4 of pre-op and 16 more to go. It must have been hard for you keeping up with your little ones on so little food. Good for you making this choice while you're still young. Sending good thoughts your way. Grams
