NEED SOME HELP ASAP!!!!
Becca replied to jessicaamere's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You might try the calorie free Gatorade. Sometimes the electrolytes help. Hope you feel better soon. Congrats on your sleeve! -
Looking good! Yay!

New here and need some advice
Becca replied to new_beginnings_'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had all sorts of problems with my band. I had it taken out and revised to the sleeve in late December. Best decision I have EVER made! I am losing weight and I have control of food. Plus, I don't have to worry about sliming and all of that other drama from the band. I love the sleeve and I am thankful that there are no big issues with nutrient absorbtion like with the bypass. Good luck with your revision! -
I wish I could be like you!!!!

Great to hear from you! Looking forward to reading your blogs! -
Get the Shake Weight! It has really helped to tone my arms.

I am so glad you broke your stall. I have found cutting the carbs does help when you are in a stall. Your workout plan is great! That should get those pounds dropping! Have fun when you go to Vegas.

My NUT advised me to keep the carbs under 100 to lose weight. It forces your body to use the fat for energy rather than the carbs you are eating. I think 300 per day is very high for a sleeve patient in the losing stage. I have dropped my carb intake recently due to a little stall I was having and now I am losing again. I went from 60 carbs per day down to 40.

It is still so strange to be able to shop in the normal section of the store. Loving it though!

How hard is being on only clear liquids?
Becca replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got really really sick of everything I was allowed to have. To this day, the thought of Jello makes me sick. It isn't easy, but it goes by quick. It is better to let your stomach heal so you don't have problems further down the road. We all survive it somehow! -
This is the exact same thing that happened to me! My band was so messed up that I ended up revising to the sleeve. I had a slip too and my doctor felt the band would slip again since I also had a hernia. I thought I had appendicitis! I am so glad I am not the only one.

Breaking up with food
Becca replied to smileforamile91's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have found that I don't want too many "bad" foods since surgery. If I do "think" I want something, I usually just have a bite or two and then I am finished. If I am feeling like I must have a snack, I have found pork rinds work well. They have no carbs, have protein, and are pretty low calorie. If you keep your carbs under control (I am eating about 50-60 a day), it helps with cravings. I really think having the ghrelin way reduced has a major impact on how you think about food post op. -
Anyone have a food you sleeve didn't like???
Becca posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am about seven weeks out. Today I tried some hamburger meat for the first time. I made a hamburger patty with some cheese on top. I was only able to eat about 1/3. I started to feel like the meat was stuck. Then I starting sliming (which I have never had happen with the sleeve). I eventually threw all of it up. NOT fun! Anyone else had an experience like this? What foods caused it? I don't know if it was just too soon for hamburger meat or if my sleeve just doesn't like it. Any thoughts appreciated. I haven't had any food intolerances until today and I am not sick. Thanks! -
Buying Clothes While Loosing Weight?
Becca replied to MommyTawnie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the same issue. I don't want to spend money on something that I will only wear a month. Luckily for now, I have a few things to wear now since I used to buy clothes a size or two smaller to try and motivate myself to lose weight. Those are getting baggy now though. It is such a great thing, yet such a difficult thing to deal with! -
Please post if you start a support group. I live in the Copperfield area and would love to attend.

Worried Sleeve Won't Rid My Uncontrollable Hunger!!!
Becca replied to 2notbwinded's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can totally relate to your story. In fact, before surgery, I went crazy with food and put on about 10 pounds because I was thinking I would never be able to eat this or that again. I will say that the surgery has changed everything for me. For once in my life, food isn't on my mind all the time. I am in control. Head hunger is still there, but for the most part, I can control it. I can't overeat with my sleeve and honestly I really don't want to. It feels good to eat what your body needs, rather than stuffing yourself until you are sick. I am so happy. It is so amazing to watch yourself shrink, to receive compliments about losing weight, and to have to buy new clothes. I wish you the best and I really do think the sleeve is an amazing gift! -
plication sleeve sutures or vertical sleeve staples
Becca replied to quints's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know much about the plication, but I will say this. When I had the lapband, I was still very obsessed with food. Nothing really changed for me and I was hungry all the time. Now with the ghrelin way reduced from my sleeve, I don't feel controlled by food anymore. I am in control. I eat to live and I am very satisfied on a small amount. I am also not really hungry. Keep researching. I hope others will chime in!
