  1. I am not a fan of greek yogurt either. Glad you posted this because I thought I was the only one! LOL
  2. I was just curious at how people reached their decision to switch. I am feeling a little bummed (and judged) because of the failure of my lapband. I am freaking out about another surgery, but I can't live with the pain of my band anymore. I always feel lifted when I hear others journeys.
  3. Hugs! I know it is hard those first few days. The sleeve is so worth it though!!!
  4. You will do great! I agree with bringing the chapstick. Put some on before you go in for surgery and it will help keep your lips from getting so chapped. Also, make sure you have a pillow for the ride home. Good luck! We will be cheering for you!

    2nd NSV

    That's great!!!
  6. Please research the statistics on the lapband. You are pretty much going to have to have a second operation to fix the band, you won't lose weight, or if you do lose it, you will gain it back. It is is a foreign object being placed into your body. You have no control over how your body will react to it or if it will break or slip. I am saying this all from experience. The sleeve has very low risks and it works! I love my sleeve. I wish I had it first. Good luck with your decision.
  7. You would probably need help with the baby for at least the first week. You will be very tired and sore. I took many naps and I still needed my pain meds the first week, which made me a little loopy. The second week, I was feeling much better and by the third week, I could do about everything normally. I would be careful with lifting your baby, just because you can cause your incisions to tear open. I would expect the first couple of weeks to be a challenge, but it does get better each day. The pain is about the same with the revision as it was for the band. The only thing I couldn't stand was the drain, but it helps detect leaks. The sleeve has been life changing for me. The band just caused me lots of pain and heartache. Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions!
  8. I am going to post some when I get to Onederland! Promise. I also have a vlog...641becca on Youtube.

  9. The band was pretty much pure hell for me. The sleeve has been amazing! You will love the sleeve. Feel free to ask me any questions and welcome!
  10. You should be fine. I sometimes would have a pain or two and panic as well. I think sometimes the pain was from my incisions. The biggest sign of a leak is fever. If you have a fever, you should go to the hospital right away. I hope you recover well. I still remember those first few weeks and how hard they could be. It is all worth it, so hang in there!

    The last straw!!!

You are making the right choice. The sleeve is the best decision I could have ever made for my health and I feel amazing. Good luck on the big day and keep us posted!

    Self sabotage?

I had been doing that all of my adult life. I went on a binge before I had my revision surgery thinking I would be so depressed if I couldn't eat all of my favorite foods. Then I had the sleeve. With the sleeve, I just don't feel controlled by food anymore. I get sick if I were to overeat, so I don't. I don't even want junk food anymore really at all. The sleeve is an amazing tool. Good luck and hang in there! Your sleeve date will be here before you know it.

I belong to the Y and I have so been wanting to go to Zumba. I haven't worked up the nerve yet. I wish they had a beginner class. I probably will try to go soon. It seems like so much fun! Glad you loved it!

    5 month stall.............

I was going through a little stall. I was eating about 60 carbs per day (as advised by my NUT). I decided to drop down to 40 carbs just to see what would happen. I started losing again, in fact three pounds in a week. I also got some advice to workout first thing in the morning before eating (if that is hard, just eat a little bit of protein). This will force your body to use fat stores for energy. I try to get in at least one morning workout a week. Plus, working out in the morning bumps up your metabolism and you burn more calories the rest of the day. YOU WILL BREAK THROUGH THIS STALL!!!!

IM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS SITE!

Sorry to hear about your painful lapband experience. My lapband put me through hell, as well. I had a regain as well as broken tubing and a slip. There are many of us who have had revisions and we are LOVING the sleeve life. I hope you can get your sleeve. It really does work! Come here to vent anytime. There are lots of revisioners on Youtube, as well that were helpful for me to watch. Good luck!!!

    5 months check in!

Yay! I am so glad you are doing so well. I had a revision as well and I totally agree about the "crap band." Enjoy the new you! I bet you will be doing lots of shopping very soon.

    McDonald's Smoothies

That is a LOT of carbs! Their "healthy" yogurt parfaits and oatmeal and loaded with carbs and sugar, too. My NUT told me once about a WLS patient who actually gained weight post op from the drinks at McDonalds. I guess that has always made me stay away!
  22. AWESOME....I have the same "aunt" issues! LOL Your weight loss is amazing! Keep it up.
