6+ Years With Band (Yuck) Now To Vsg Revision
Becca replied to VSG 4 Me's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I feel ya. My band failed me and then shattered apart in my body. I was in serious pain. The sleeve has been amazing. I am a normal weight and I couldn't be happier. I wish you the best with everything! -
I can totally relate. I was so happy to get the band out. I still get so angry at how they market the band so much when it has such a high failure rate. Congrats on your sleeve. You will LOVE it.

Surgery Rescheduled To 3/21...
Becca replied to wannabb08's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats! It will be here before you know it. -
I lost hair with my Lapland surgery, but not as much as I did with the VSG. I lost my hair until about a year out. It finally stopped on it's own and is now growing back. I think it is from such a drastic change in our food intake.
-
Mine started a couple of days after surgery. It was annoying, but not terrible.

Yay! Congrats. You are going to be amazed at how well the sleeve works. Sending hugs your way.

Will A Revision Work For Me?
Becca replied to alfieo's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
The sleeve is totally different than the band. The band was just a big joke for me. It never really worked and I was still morbidly obese after 3 and a half years. The sleeve changed my life. It did take me 14 months to get to normal weight, but I got there. I am so happy. Personally, my food obsession has been drastically reduced from the surgery. Food doesn't run my life anymore. I do! You should try the sleeve and I do think you can be successful! The sleeve works. -
Awesome job so far! Congrats!

It's normal to feel nervous. Don't stress too much! The sleeve is amazing and it will change your life in great ways. Good luck! You will do great.

What Should I Try And Stock Up On?
Becca replied to scubadottie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I never had issues with caffeine. I always make sure to get in my water, along with my morning cup of coffee each day. I drank lots of hot tea right after surgery with no problems. I only used the five hour energy when I felt weak from not eating for days. A small sip would give me a litttle boost. I didn't need it once I was eating normal foods. You may be fine without it. I personally struggled with feeling weak on the liquid stage. Totally worth it though! I love my sleeve! -
Yay! Celebration time! Life is sooooo much better with the sleeve!

Anyone Disappointed In The Amount Of Weight Lost? Wish It Was More?
Becca replied to emmas mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a slow loser. At first, it really bothered me. I just decided that it might take me awhile, but I wasn't going to give up. I finally got to a normal weight after 14 months. Don't put a timeline on yourself. What's the rush anyway as long as you get there? Hugs and hang in there. -

I have had lots of stalls. It's just part of the process. Your body just needs time to adjust. You aure probably losing inches, even if the scale isn't going down. Hang in there!

Considering Vsg A Year After Band Removed....
Becca replied to Vicki0618's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Absolutely, positively get the sleeve! I had a horrible time with my band. It never really worked and then it broke apart in my body causing me miserable pain. The sleeve is amazing. It gives you restriction all the time. You can eat what you want, although my tastes have changed quite a bit. I am now a normal weight 14 months post op from the sleeve. I am so happy. You should give yourself a second chance!
