Okay, even though my ticker thing says my starting weigh was 140 kilos; I guessed that and I put down 5 kilos lost on my ticky thingy as a guess as well.
I asked the dr not to tell me what I weighed when I first met him; then I did the same at the hospital.
Tomorrow I go in for my two week post op meeting and am in two minds as to whether I want to find out how much I've lost since starting Optifast (26th August) to now two weeks post op.
If I haven't lost that much I may just fall apart...so maybe it's better to not know for now.
Hi Lannah,
I got banded in Sydney on Friday the 10th.
I still have the surgical tapes on until I see the surgeon this Thursday.
Very sore in the port still.
I have around 60ks to lose...
take care!!
I got a book from my surgeon's clinic called "Knife,Fork and Band". It's been written by a South Australian Dietician who is attached to an Adelaide lap band surgeon.
The book is bloody brilliant and is my bible!
It has fabulous recipes for all stages from the optifast stage through to the eating normally stage.
It discusses the procedure, exercise, psychology..everything.
My understanding is it is available at most lapband clinics in Australia and I thouroughly recommend it.. I even took it with me when I had the op done on the 10th September and it was getting passed around Dr Taylor's other patients in the ward.
Scrambled eggs with milk; bananas and yoghurt blended;ricotta cheese, honey, milk and lemon juice blended;chicken, tomatoes, garlic, roasted capsicum, chicken stock and mushrooms blended.
I was banded 10th September and the surgeon didn't say anything. I was in alot of pain and he gave me morphine pills to take at home. I slept on my right non port side supported with a pillow; but on Friday the 17th I heaved my body over to the right side to get comfy. Come Saturday I have had new pain near my port and the pain has shifted..I wonder if I've inadvertantly "done something" by sleeping " port side" and by moving the vast, vast tummy the way that I did...
I was banded on the 10th September and my gown kept falling off. I was walking around the ward that night with one g cup boob constantly on show, in a mixed ward and was too sore to care.
Dear SaraMarie123 I got banded on Friday the 10th too!!
It's now Wednesday here, day 5 and am still getting shoulder pains.Plus my port hurts.
I'm eating everything through a straw and am sticking to small cups of food, such as pumpkin soup; tomato soup, up and go breakfast drinks (this is Australian; not sure if you would know it but its a liquid breakfast that you can drink on the run); yoghourt blended with fruit and milk; coffee or chai tea.
Sometimes I'm starving, but I just sip something to ease the hunger.
:thumbup:Hi, I was banded at the San on Friday 10th September by Dr Craig Taylor; and am wondering how do I add the little ticker tape milestone thingy to my details??? Thanks.
