I'm a brave soul...and very cautious to post this...I was one of the first for the month and went into a hault on w-loss for about 4.5 wks. I didn't loose an oz. However I went for my fill yesterday and now I'm ready to get back on track. The Pic's posted (I hope) are from 1 Jan and 24 Apr...Seeing yourself everyday in the mirror, you don't really see it. I was really surprised!

Will i ever be able to eat these things again?

I had a hard time with broc (I know it is on the no-no list), it hurt so bad, I will never do that again. I also have a hard time with chicken. I have to chew-chew-chew. Once I was in conversation and reverted back to my old ways (3-4 chews and swallow) and man did the pain set in and up it came. It was VERY painful! Beef is ok for me as long as it is not overcooked. I'll have some of my DHs when we go out to dinner. I don't have any other foods that bother me (that I know of) -
I'm in the United States Air Force...best job on earth. Retiring in 3 yrs, then I'll persue my degree background in Human Resouces....!

After reading about what everyone is eating, I'm a little concerned for myself. Today is day 7 and I'm still not hungry. My dr has me on clear liquids for the first wk and full liquids on the second. A typical day is sipping on crystal light all day, 2 oz of beef broth 2 a day and maybe a popsicle. I will throw in a protein shake but it will take me 2-days to sip it down. The WEIRD thing is that I'm not hungry. I'm so afraid to overeat when I do start to take on real food. I have dropped 12 lbs since 1-2-07 and my recovery has been amazingly well. Any thoughts?

Well today is like I expected. A little more discomfort today than yesterday. However, I did have to get up this morning and go into work for about an hour. My husband had to put my boots on (I'm in the military) for me. He's the greatest and so supportive. My stomach is more on the active side (rumbling) but I'm not hungry. Again it's been ice chips and I had 2 oz of veggie broth. The warmth was very satisfying and good. Good luck Audree...I'll be thinking about you and don't rush coming home.

angy~I hope nothing but the best for you. keep us informed when you can. I'll pray for success and a speedy/painless recovery....Take care

No the shots are for blood clots. I have to take them every 8hrs for 14 days. For pain, I'm taking liquid vicodin (lortab). I was nervous about taking this pain killer on an empty stomach since it can cause nausea too, but again I haven't had a problem. Tomorrow is a new day and my tune may change as I progress through the healing process. I'll keep in touch. It is off to bed for the evening.

Hey Amy..SA is a great city, my favorite food is Mexican Food and we have it on every corner here..um-um. By far, that will be my biggest obstacle. What a coincidence I live fairly close to the Hyatt (if if was the hill country resort) and I have several friends who work there. Good luck with your procedure. And remember to do/don't do everything the doctor tells you. For me so far so good.

I woke up to pee and walk :clap2: . I still do not have a lot of pain (thanks goodness) yet however, they say day 2 I might have more discomfort, by the looks of my tummy I think I will hurt like hell. I'm very fair skinned so everything just jumps out at ya. I've eaten a few I chips and I am NOT hungry, don't even think about food. I gave myself my first shot and I did ok. I got a little apprehensive and kinda shook the needle, but I'll get better, I have to do it every 8 hrs. Thanks again for all your support.

Hello all...it's official the band is in, and I'm doing fine. I just got home and I will be going to bed to rest as soon as I hit the reply button. Thanks to all who had me in their thoughts and prayers.....WOOOOOOO-HOOOOOO!!

Hi there Mary~I to am a self-pay and we are worth every penny. I also have back problems like yourself. I have severe DJD between L4-5, but I refuse to have surgery until I'm dragging both legs. My back is doing remarkably great for the last few years so I really don't have a need for surgery yet. Good luck with your band...may you get a date soon :girl_hug:!

About me...I'm in the military (USAF) 17 yrs. Born/raised in TX however, left TX when I joined the mil. I retire in 3 years and I've battled my weight my entire life. A month before my father passed he said to me that I need to keep my weight under control. After the roller coaster of the weight ups and downs (more ups than downs), I've decided to do this. Last year I had 5 family members have bypass and 4 seem to be doing ok. The other seems so frail and weak, I worry about him. I'm married (7yrs) and I have a 2 y/o son, who we adopted (by choice...never tried to get PG) from Russia. He is such a blessing to our family! I'm looking forward to this new year...may it be the best one yet :biggrin1: !
