    Can't rush things!! :-(

well you are down 7 pounds since surgery but you are down a total of 31 all together which is awesome.. the slower the better.. I know we all want it to just go away me being the same but set a 1-3 month goal not just a post surgery goal. Your body need to recover to it will store a little to aid in that and once you are recovered totally you will shed the pounds.. Keep up the good work Bill

    Drinking from a straw?

when drinking through a straw you swallow air which in turn gives you increased gas.. if your band is tight you will get that tightness in your chest.. found this out the hard way.. ouch.. just take small sips and do not glup

    October 2010 Bandsters!!

well I am post-op day 4 and it has not been a blast..lol Where I am a big guy they were able to use the smaller band on me which saves me a surgery.. yea the down size is I have a ton of restriction. I went in to have the couple of cc's taken out of my band due to being dehydrated and they were unable to access my port.. bummer. They wanted me to get admitted to the hospital but since I am a Nurse there would be none of that..lol So I go on monday to the hospital so they can access my Port under Fluro (x-ray). The up side is I am down 11 pounds since surgery.. Even with everything that is going on I DO NOT regret this one bit.. Not every time will be perfect but It will be an adventure.. October Bandsters we will get through this together... Keep the the stories and if You are nervous remember You can do this..
  4. no I am home it sucked but yes it will be worth it.. it is the smaller of the 2 bands like yours,, will be glad to have a bite to eat.. lol

  5. well it went..lol Found out I had a hiatal hernia that also got repaired.. Real sore today. I had post op bleeding at my right trochar site which required a second trip to the OR. I have been just sipping on some icetea but not much else. I feel quite a bit of restriction as they used the smaller band where at my size they usually use the bigger of the 2 but a second surgery is usually required. I am feeling just yucky today but post-op day 1 most likely would be. keep in touch..

    October 2010 Bandsters!!

Well got my band yesterday.. Glad it is over.. Tender today just taking sips fell a bit of restriction as I am over 300lbs which usually gets the bigger of the 2 bands but my surgeon was able to get the smaller one on. Also I had a Hiatal hernia which got repaired. I knew nothing about that but glad it is done. Now to all those who hate that pre-op diet, and I was one of them, I had fatty liver pre-op but that diet made my liver so much easier for my surgeon and safer for me. SHe said that there was hardly a trace so it was worth it. To all my fellow October Bandsters Keep you chin high YOU CAN DO IT
  7. very exciting to be done as well.. Very proud of you as this is not an easy decision.. had a long day as apparently i had a hiatal hernia as well which also got repaired. had a little postop bleeding in my right incision that would not stop so it bought me a second trip to the OR but that was a piece of cake... lets keep intouch so when we get a little negative we can keep picking each other up and when we hit our first "band"aversary we can celebrate...

  12. hey there good luck tomorrow.. I also go tomorrow so our journeys begin.. All the best

  13. nice job... 5 days for me
  14. mine required a $500.00 fee just to cover what insurance did not. I think that is because some have not paid in the past. I agree with many other comments plan it out. 200 a month is a savings account and bam u have your surgery. It is tough but worth it in the long run. I go for my surgery in 10 days and it has been a long road. This will all be worth it. Just wait till your pre-op diet this will seem like a piece of cake.. just kidding.. all the best
