I am a single mother of 3 and have been trying to lose weight for the last 10 years.  A lot of the women in my family struggle with their weight and I am no exception.  I have been slowly gaining and losing weight since the birth of my second child.  I can lose up to 10 kilos, reach a plateau and then put 15 kilos back within a few weeks.  I am tired of the yo-yo diets and really want to make alife long change.  I am seriously considering the lap band surgery to help me lose the weight and keep it off.  I want to be here for a long time with my kids, so this is decision for my health.  I have a lot of life to live.  I am starting to get some small health issues back probs and have poly systic ovaries which are getting worse by my weight.  I am not expecting the lap band to 'cure' my weight problem and to suddenly wake up skinny all of a sudden.  But, i am  hoping this may be a huge help in making the big change my life needs.  I am sick and tired of spend the summertime hiding in big baggy clothes and constantly feeling sweaty etc and avoiding the swimming pool!  i have a very supporrive family who are happy with whatever decision I make but, understandably are concerned about the risks of the actual surgery, as with any operation.
