Well Phil I was there with Kaiser lost the weight .sent in the paper work emailed the doctor to let him know .then nothing when ever I called to report my weight the box was always full I could not contact any one the doctor was so nasty I decided I did not want him to operate on me .so now I am with aetna and I Jan. I try again I've been trying sense 2006 ,but I'm not giving up Jazz

I am 5"3 and when i started I weighed 233 I am now 217have to get to 214 for the band .you may not have to lose weight It depends on the doctor I think I am going through Kaiser and they think they are God and make you jump through hoops :biggrin:.I am changing to Atena in Nov. and hope I can get it done through them depends on the doctor I guess.I have diabeties,high blood pressure leg ,back and ankle pain .I just want to be healthy.you may have yours before me at this rate seems I'll be into next year before i get it I'm trying to get it before i leave Kaiser .Hang in there and keep me up dated on your progress:thumbup: Jazzey

Hi Rosie I have been waiting sense Nov 16 2006have done every thing I am 3 lbs from my goal weight Have been trying to lose it for four months It was first one thing then another I will go up 5 lbs then down four and it has been an up and down thing for the last 4 months I finnerly did drop one lb then i cought this what ever is going aroung bug but I'm not giving up I'll get the three lbs off i have lost 19 lbs so far and I'll get the last 3 off or bust .just hang in there It will come and you'll be banded . good luck Jazzey

He said that because I had not exexcised in a while and to start off doing and Hr. is to much I have as of to day drooped another lb Now I have three to go now but I going to try to go below my goal because their scale is always five lbs more than mine and I have a weight watchers scale pluse they weigh shoes and all whenI go to get weighed I wear slides that I can slip off and I wear very light cloths like gauze or somethig of that sort have a great day and god bless

Thank you so much for you kindness and encouragement I am at 219 and have to get to 214 for the surgeryMy ankle hurts so bad I can hardley walk the cane helps me a lot I will start with baby steps and walk up to the corner every day until i ket stronger then i will go up to the track at the school and walk as much as I can then I will go from there I just want to get the band as soon as possable

Thank you for your kind words I will take my cane and try to walk .I tried water exercise and my doctor told me one hr. was to much because i would be in so much pain after and i also went to curves and that was to much .so now I will try walking a little .just grocer shoping is to much for me .thank you for the advice i just want to get the 4 lbs off and get the band then hopefully i can do more once i have lost some more weight Thank you jazzey

Hello Iam 67 can I join this group ? I was in the 67 group let me tell you about me .I am 67 and pre/op I amgoing through kaiser I have had a hard time losing the weight to make goal i have dia betes, High blood pressure ,gout ,knee ,back pain ankle pain and you name it I have it except heart problems .I take 95 units of 70/30 novaln insulin I have lost 18 of the 22 lbs i need to lose I have been tring to lose this sense 2006 I only have 4 more to go which i have been trying to lose for the last four months I retain water and it causes me to go up and down 4 to 5 lbs I am on lasix for the water I had gotton to point where I was not going to have the lap band done but my sister talked me into continuing because It helps diabeties so i will continue to try now I have a nasty cold must be a viris going around .would like to know if there is any one on this board in the central valley near Atwater ca. jazz:rolleyes2:

yes I have to lose 4 more lbs to reach my goal I have lost 18 so far 4 more to go .I have a lot of medical problems that quilified me for it .Kaiser is the insurance plan I have now I am transfering to Aetna in Nov .open season I was trying to get it done before I left. jazz.

hello all I have posted here before I am 67 will be 68 in Nov .I have been tryingto lose the same 4 lbs for the last 3 or 4 months I am Pre /opt any one ever had that problem?if so what did you do ?:wink2:

I have been trying for two years to lose weight for this surgery and i have medical problems that keepme form losing the weight I have gotton as far as 4 lbs from goal and then swell and it puts me up 4 or five lbs .I 'm tierd of trying .I wish all of you the best of luck with your surgery . I didn't lose any thing because of the medication I was on for the pain in my ankle I seem to be coming down sense I have finished it I now have a cold I will wait till The cold is gone and I will start over in Phrase 1 I only have 4 lbs to go

Thank you so much you have really given me insight into this thing.I was doing the south beach last week when I developed pain and swelling in my ankle and could barely walk I went to the doctor and he gave me two shots one morfine and anothe for infection and some pills to take for a week I have now finished the pills I still have pain the medication took me upto 226 from 218 then my blood sugar rose to 4 73 now my blood sugar in down and I am at 221 this morning and still haven't lost the 4 lbs I've beentrying to lose for the last 4 months .my sister talked me into going on and have the surgery because of the diabites .I decided to wait until the medication is out of my system and then start back on the south beach I am going to go to that web site .you are such a nice caring and help ful person God bless you I don't switch over to Aetna until Nov .and It becomes effective until Jan . Where did you have it done what state are you in I can't wait to get out of there they are very riget.no more HMO for me from now on ppo is where I go how do you feel now did you have any problems. Thank you so much

my sister is here visiting and she wants me to have it for my diabeties and we are doing the south beack diet so i should have the four lbs off soon she talked me back into it .so i am going to go at it again hopefully have it before the first of the year .Is there very much gas ?Thank you for your information:smile2:

I am joing Aetna In Nov that is the open season.it won't be effective until jan .Thanks for the insight .have you had any problems with them ?

I'm on the 1200 cal diet they gave me I take Insulin 70/30,lasix,atenolol,amlodipine,cozaar,allopurinol,hydrochlorothiazide among others,
