I'd start shopping around for a new DR.. 2000 is kinda extreme in my book.. That's what insurance is for.. -
$200+ consultation fee w/ insurance?
mskissty posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have never heard of a consultation fee with insurance.. The Dr's office charges a non refundable 200+ consultation fee on top of my insurance. Anyone else have to pay this?I've never heard of paying anything outside of the deductable or copays so this is new to me. They told me this is across the board so please give me some feedback... Seeing the Doc in the morning!

Wow.. That's horrible.. Maybe you can be referred to another DR that considers your desires as well as his own.. Stay positive.. Things seem to always work out in the end.. -
$200+ consultation fee w/ insurance?
mskissty replied to mskissty's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone.. The fee itself is actually $285 and it's not such a big deal, but I have never heard of anything like this before so I always question the new.. When I met the DR I got a very good feeling about him.. It was almost weird.. So I guess i will go ahead and prepare to see him again on the 29th.. Thanks Again Everyone!!! -
$200+ consultation fee w/ insurance?
mskissty replied to mskissty's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They told me it was on top of the insurance. Everyone that comes in the door pays it.. I asked and they said it's something that everyone does.. I thought it sounded fishy so before paying it I thought I'd research it to see if everyone is truely paying it before searching for another DR. -
I have allergies also.. Thanks for the heads up...

I had Implanon as well.. I got it installed right after my last baby was born.. I gained when I was supposed to be losing baby weight I was gaining not to mention that I bled for 4 months.. After six I was done.. I ended up going and get a Paraguard (copper IUD). My cycle is heavier but it's not longer and I don't bleed inbetween.. I love it. I also like knowing that Paraguard has no hormones. Though not everything works for everyone. I hope the Implanon works for you..

I totally understand the seminar is 1 1/2 hours from my home so I'll be traveling also. When your passionate about something it's hard not to worry. This surgery is more than i have to pay so I just hope we both make the cut.. -
