Please don't consider the gastric bypass. My dr. Was talking to me about the gastric sleeve. Never in a million years would I consider having 80% of my stomach removed. With the band it can be reversed. I know of people that have lost over 100 pounds with the lapband. My surgery is Jan 10th..

I've heard that starting Jan 1st 2011, federal blue cross will be doing like all the other insurance companies. You will have to go through the 6 month surpervised diet and the whole nine yards -

My surgery was sheduled for last week, but because of my fear I changed the date till after January. Is it normal to have so many fears? I have read and heard so many horror stories. Will someone please put my mind at ease. How bad is the pain? I'm also afraid of being put to sleep. Thanks for any comments.

Hi everyone im new here. I have an upcoming appointment next week. I have federal bcbs, can anyone tell me what I can expect on my first vist. And since I don't have to do the 6 month wait, how soon can I expect to have my surgery. My current weight is 285. Thanks for any input.
