    NSV!

i got back on a horse! my biggest ride was last weekend for our Relay for Life Team at church. i had riding some to get ready but my husband and i rode about 8 miles and i was so sore i could barely walk for 4 days. But the day was beautiful and i enjoyed myself so much. But before i had quit riding i have not been on a horse for about 4 years because of my weight. Feels good. looking forward to more "new" activities again!

  9. i am the same way. i will not replace the battery in my home scale for that exact reason. there is a package scale at work that i weigh in on every Monday morning. I want to lose but do not want to be obsessed with that scale everyday. Good luck and everyone have a great week!

8 Days Post Op ... Advice

the mushie stage for me was a really pureed egg salad. easy to digest and Protein. but my all time favorite food was refried Beans with a can of rotel with a little cheese. now during the mushie stage i went more pureed. i took my wand mixer and blended it more. it was the best. i wanted more taste and since it was cold outside when i was banded Soups were plentiful at my house. i made taco soup and pureed it down also. Good luck!
  12. i experience that also. i think it is the protein. my breath did not smell like this prior to this surgery and me drinking my protein.

    regret city....what have i done?

i did my crying and break down prior to surgery. I dont know if any one else was like this but food was my comfort friend i could go to and not get criticized or cut down. i depended on food to make me feel better. So in a sense when we are that dependent on it we grieve for what we are limited to. Shock is the keep. but please keep in mind every doctors rules and everyone's body is different. my doctor said i could have starch but as everyone has said i was to have it in moderation. So i do enjoy some pasta or a part of a biscuit from time to time. We just learn new ways to enjoy our food. And sometimes we learn that we really dont need that afterall. Good luck on your new journey and look up for a positive view.
  14. i would mix my Protein powder like you would for cornstarch. use warm Water to liquify the protein then add to the broth. that way it does not clump. I used my protein in everything. broth, juice or milk. with milk is my favorite. i mix protein with ff milk, two sweet n lows and a dash of vanilla. not think and takes care of my sweet tooth at the same time. Good luck. finding a good Protein Powder you like is hard. Good luck on your search!

    God bless this forum

I felt the same way after my surgery. I was on this site everyday for about 2 months prior to surgery and i was so reassured. It went almost as everyone has said. my recovery was much smoother and less panicky because of what i learned here. thanks! and Kuddos to everyone because we have all worked together to help one another i think! God Bless!
