to follow my journey: girlbanded.blogspot.comI am just a few months shy of turning thirty-one and am on a journey to be healthy, shed this weight and have babies. I've have been married for almost 10 wonderful years and have one precious dog, dusty. I'm the Director of Human Resources for a Government Intenty and absolutely love my career; this is my 10th year. I'm super close to my family and my in-laws. I'm a wanna-be photographer. I love shopping; purses, shoes, jelwery are my addictions. I also love camping, hunting, and fishing. I'm a country girl with a bit of sass.

My lapband journey has been long. It started way back in the late spring of 2005; here is a super summary:
Spring 2005, I discover banding. I was estatic. Identified my doctor, completed all my required testing, submitted for approval. Hubby got laid-off; insurance canceled. Move forward to 2009. I changed companies which had insurance covering gastric banding. I was required to loose 10%. During this time, their insurance changed. Recently discoverd hubby's insurance covers banding. I added on to his plan August 2010 and with having already completed all program and requirements for other insurances, I only had to have a Nutritional Evaluation for submission to his insurance. Submitted to Insurance - August 17, 2010 Approved - September 1, 2010 Surgery - September 22, 2010
First, I have been a "fluff" [def. term for fatty, only more polite] all my life. I was the chubby girl in the class. on the bus. and of my friends. it really stunk.

Second, I have tried every diet, I am sure, known to women. I was only ever successful on Weight Watchers; were I lost 25 lbs. and kept it off for about 18 months.

I have PCOS, [what is that? check this out: click here] and it makes it very hard to loose and very easy to gain.

My life here on farm in eastern tennessee is wonderful. I have the most amazing, loving, kind-hearted and accepting husband, the greatest parents anyone could ask for, an awesome church and church family, beautiful friends and live in one of the most beautiful places.

My mom always stressed that she didn't want me to live my young life overweight; didn't get that down. And going into my thirty's, now is the time to get control of my life. Banding for me is 1) to have a tool to assist in weight loss 2) a tool that hold me accountable to make better choices 3) and too loose this weight to be healthy & so we can have babies! We are holding off on our 4th fertility treatment until I loose this weight. [my infertility blog: http://www.justwaitingonbaby.blogspot.com/]

Sadly, I just got put on blood pressure medicine within the last month. this makes me so sad and even more eager.

I look forward to sharing my journey with you.
