I live in the North Carolina area. I found a Dr. Rutledge that does the MGB but he is from Las Vegas, My concern is the follow up. I already have problems with follow up on my lapband because most US doctors won't see anyone that has their lapband done in Mexico, such as I have done. What is the VSG? I was interested in the MGB because it sounded like they could remove the lapband and do the MGB at the same time laproscopically. Thanks again.

I am having problems with my band. Not to mention my weight loss overall has been minimal. I lost a lot at first then my weight has creeped up because the only things I seem to be able to eat are high calorie foods such as ice cream. I am having serious acid reflux issues and am Vitamin deficient. I have been looking on the web for follow up doctors but I think I am leaning toward having the band removed and having an MGB which is a Mini Gastric Bypass surgery. I am trying to find someone who will both remove the lap-band and do the MGB at the same time. The MGB is a laproscopic surgery as well with minimal complications. I f any one has information on this please let me know. Thank you.:help:

Thank you for all the info...it will definitely help. I mainly need to find someone for follow up since I am having some pain and acid reflux associated with my band. Do the fill doctors also check to see if the band is ok? I don't want another fill...I just want to be sure that my band is ok. I thought I could find a resource from my band doctor but I can't call Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey, Mexico because I found out a few months back that he had been murdered (terrible thing to have happened...he seemed so nice!!). :help:Thank you regarding the Fill Center USA. I went to their website and it didn't have a location near me. I am concerned about what I have been reading about the centers. I want to be sure to go to a quality doctor since I think I am having acid reflux as a result of the band. Are there any other follow up doctors....even in adjoining states Regards

Does anyone know of any Fill/Follow up doctors in North or South Carolina. I was banded by Dr. Sanchez a few years ago in Mexico. I was seeing Dr. Allen in Kentucky when I lived in Indiana. Since then I have moved. Most doctors do not want to do follow up on anyone other than the patients they have done surgery on. Thanks for your help. Bonnie

I didn't have the acid reflux at first. I was banded 3 years ago....This has just started the last few months and it is getting progressively worse and scares me. I am constantly getting sick no matter what I eat...

I have been banded for a few years and recently...I have been getting sick a lot and having acid reflux so bad it wakes me up at night....I also have a sour taste in my mouth all of the time. I was banded in Mexico but do not know who to go to in my area and whether a regular doctor would see me for this. My doctor in Mexico recently was killed so I can't go see him. Who do you know that may be in NC area and does anyone know any doctors in SE USA that would remove the band if necessary. I have had lap-band surgery in 2004 by Dr. Rodolfo Sanchez in Mexico. I have had no problems with it but would like to have some regular check-ups with a doctor. Dr. Sanchez is a highly respected doctor and has performed thousands of the lap-band operations. I recently moved to Charlotte NC and cannot find a follow-up doctor. They mostly refuse to see anyone that has not had surgery by them or anyone having surgery outside the USA. I did live in Indiana and was seeing Dr. Jeffrey Allen in Louisville Kentucky for my followups and adjustments.. He was one of the key doctors instrumental in getting the lap-band approved in the USA. Since I have moved it is difficult for me to go to him (more than 600 miles away) and I would like to find someone in the North Carolina or South Carolina area. Does anyone know of any lap-band doctors that would take another patient for follow-up visits or adjustments. Thank you. bonjeanie@yahoo.com
