I am 35 years old and weigh 367 lbs. Wow!, thats something I never thought I would say! I am not sure exactly how I got to this point. I mean I cant pin point it on one thing. I have been over weight since I was 17 and got pregnant for the first time. I remember looking in the mirror at the hospital after I had my first baby and crying, because I looked so horrible. HA! What I wouldnt give to go back and actually look like that now!! lol! The weight has just slowly slowly crept up on me over the years. Fortunately I have a wonderful hubby of 19 years that loves me unconditionaly and doesnt care what I look like. Unfortunately, I think I took that for granted and had.  just become complacent with my weight and my health, until I reached a point that my health started to deteriorating at a pretty fast pace. I now have type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, chronic heart burn, edema of the legs, no energy at all, no sex drive, and periodically will just not have my period for months on end. I came to the conclusion I wanted/needed to try something more drastic than my normal yoyo dieting, where I would lose weight, sure, but it would always come back (plus some!). I LOVE going hunting and fishing and the older I get and being this fat, the harder it gets every year! I want to be around for my kids and hubby, and grand kids! I want to use this opportunity as a tool to help me live a longer, better quality life! As of this week I have my nutritionist appt. left to go to, and I have to attend one more seminar this week (have actually been to 4 already), but its required so I am going.... Then everything will be sent off for approval and hopefully I will be able to actually get this thing done!! I have waited for so long to see this thing through and I am very excited! I pray every day that my surgery will get approved by my insurance!! Hoping to be banded by November, 2010 ( GOD willing )......:O)
