  1. Got my insurance approval letter in the mail this morning and a call from Dr. DeWitt's office to set up my surgery. I have a last meeting with him on the 30th and my surgery is set for April 1st. Seems like it's taken forever to get here, but now it kind of seems like it just bam! and happened. Very excited.

  2. Approved as of today! Surgery set for April 1.

SOO CLOSE! Come on last 3 pounds! lol

i'd buy that if it were a poster
  4. Had some paperwork lost somehow, I've been approved but waiting on my family doctor to re-send a few things. Closer.

  5. Got a call yesterday that I was good to go from Dr. DeWitt's office, just had to call my regular doctor to re-send some paperwork that I guess had been lost. So they acted like I was approved but I won't believe it until I'm on the table haha.

  6. My last visit of the 6/7 month diet in the morning. I thought I'd be nervous but I don't guess it's really sinking in yet. Hopefully it works out, if not I reckon we'll try again.

    17 pounds from goal (goal = 145)

    Dang.
  8. Wonder what I'll be like when I'm not this guy anymore.

  9. I understand! I've lots 50-75 pounds four or five times over now, also. It's not the losing part that kills me, I can set my mind to losing and follow through with a plan very well. It's the long term keeping with everything that has killed me my whole life. I lose down to a point where I get content and lose my drive. I feel like this band is the only way I'm going to break through the 300 mark.

  10. Went for my 6th visit to my family doctor today, and made the apointment for my last one on 1/27. One more month to go and we'll see if my insurance will let me have it. Waiting around to hear from Dr. DeWitt's office, Dr. Holt sent my 3 years of history to him. Everything else has been done now. Seminar, nutritionist, physical therapist, psych eval. Just waiting, I reckon.

    Birmingham Banders?

That's how mine is, I should've said 7 month. My initial visit was in July so January 27th-ish will be the end of my actual 6 months. I'm really excited about it. I've got BCBS too. Just hoping everything works out for me. I had to do the seminar, and visit with the nutritionist and do a psych eval (if you aren't depressed when you go in, you will be when you leave!). What bout you? Had to jump through many hoops?

    Birmingham Banders?

I am using Dr. Andrew DeWitt, at Princeton. My 6 month diet will be finished up next month, so hopefully the end of January or the beginning of February I'll be able to have mine. Where is Dr. T at?
  13. Looking hot! Big encouragement.

  14. Still waiting around on a call or a letter, my next doctor's appointment is 12-27, which will be my 6th month. I'll still need my January visit because the July one won't count. The first two months I worried about it all the time, and from then until now I didn't think about it much. Now it seems like it's taking forever and the worry is setting in over if I'll get approved or not.

    HAPPY :)

I think I just fell out my chair.
  16. I just got a letter from Dr. DeWitt's office this morning with my next few dates. On 11/9 I have an appointment with the nutritionist and it says also a physical therapy appointment? Does anyone know what's involved with the last one, as I haven't heard mention of it before? And then on the 17th I have my psych eval. Dr. DeWitt said there wasn't anything to it and not to be nervous, so I'm trying not to think about it much. I guess things are starting to fall together, maybe.
  17. Finished up with the PT and Nutritionist, wasn't really that much to it. I've got my psych evaluation next Wednesday, and then after that, I guess just waiting on my insurance? I think everything else has been completed.

  18. I got a letter from Dr. DeWitt's office this morning. I'm scheduled for a physical therapy and nutritionist assessment on 11/9 and my psych exam on 11/17. I guess things are moving along. My EKG is in the morning.

  19. Visit went good, I like the doctor real well. I've got an EKG scheduled for this week and Lori from the doctor's office is going to call me to set up an appointment with the psych. I don't have to have a sleep study or any of that stuff. Getting closer.

  20. Going to the doc's in the morning, kind of nervous. Hopefully everything's gonna go how I'd like for it to. Wish me luck!

  22. I've got my initial visit with Dr. DeWitt on the 14th, I'm pretty pumped up about that. October 27 will be the end of my 3rd month. Moving along, hopefully.

    hate this wait!!

Hey! This might not be how it works for everyone, but here is my experience for what its worth. The lowest I dropped my calories was around 16-1800 a day. Now for the first two or three weeks, I lost weight like crazy. Then around the middle of the third week my body went into major lockdown as far as losing goes and plateaued. It picked up after that again, but I lost very slowly but at a more healthy rate of 1-2 pounds a week. So if you have great success to begin with, and are losing rapidly, don't think that it will stay that way. It's all about how your body takes to the change in your diet and how it adapts. I wouldn't worry about losing too much for your insurance not to cover. I'd also suggest having a few mid-to-high days because 1300 calories isn't leaving much for energy. Shocking your body can reset your metabolism, so try that maybe once a week.
