Hello Florida sleevers!!! How is everyone doing? Hope to hear from a few of you. Deb

Hi everyone, I know it has been a LONG time since I have posted. I have reached the weight where I want to be. However, during my journey I have developed a pyloric ulcer. To which I have not gotten resolved. I am due to under go another endoscopic procedure the 18th of this month. I was told that it was due to the taking NSAIDS.... Well now, I thought to myself. So now I have to take tylenol for any pain that I may have. Which is generally an occasional headache or joint pain due to running. I may add that the pain is intense at times. Pain when eating, not eating. To which I get no relief. I was taking omeperzole, carafate. They did very little. Pluse the feeling of I NEED to throw up to feel better. I don't know how long I have had the ulcer, the pain was getting more intense and I was losing sleep due to the pain. The doctor performing the procedure told me that if this ulcer perforated I would have to undergo another WLS, namely gastric bypass. So now I have to find out what other avenues are available to heal this ulcer once the second procedure is performed. My addtional weight loss I contribute to this little demon that lies in my stomach. Just wanted to share that if you develope any pain contact your surgeons office. I wish every one much success on their journey.... Deb I have also posted before and after Pics..... BeforeAfter

Every surgeon is different on what pain meds are allowed. If you are unsure, ask them. This isn't anything to be taken lightly. Where mine is situated is where the stomach empties into the small intestine. Which is why if it does perforate they would need to perform the gastric bypass. Pyloric ulcers are not uncommon. In fact a high percentage of people develope them in that area. I'm sure if I had not have had the sleeve it would've occured in another area. Just to be safe, always ask questions. Deb

I am almost two years post op low carb in the beginning was ideal. However, not so much now. My carb intake I do and don't monitor. Depends. All I know is I feel so much better now than two months ago. I eat all the veges and fruits I can. All I can say is I can tell a difference. I'm looking at juicers. I drink a lot of smoothies. So why not juice my veges? I'm sure as long as my labs are good and I'm not hurting myself by eating fresh fruits and veges. I personally do not see a problem. Deb

I'm not advocating nor am I doctor. I do eat a meat free diet. Some goat cheese. I am trying a new life style of eating. Which does consist of raw veges and fresh fruit. Plenty of Water. Absolutly no processed foods in my house. Which I believe caused me to stall constantly and have a sluggish feeling. I was exercising like a mad woman to no avail with the scale moving. I decided since nothing was working for me I needed to try another approach. I researched the hell out of the benefits of vegan and or vegetarian lifestyles. I decided I could try and possibly acheive a better, healthier me. And I did. I have been meat free for two months. And I am so glad I did this. I did this for me. Not my friends or family. For me. What works for one may not work for others. Everyone will find what does and will do excellent with it. I wish everyone nothing but the best! Deb

Helloooooooooo everyone! Yes it has been awhile since I was last here. I recently had my 18 month check up. When I told the nut what my daily diet consisted of her jaw hit the floor. All over me eating fruit. I was shocked. I do believe my weight may flucuate 2-5 pounds a month due to tom. I haven't gained any weight since being sleeved. My current weight is......139 pounds even. So I questioned her on why she would rather me NOT eat fresh fruit? Her reply was that my body will store the natural sugars as fat. Well, let me shed some light on this. When I did not incorperate fresh fruits and veges into my diet I was a slug. Meaning that I had no damn energy. Eating processed foods was the culprit for that. Also, not having any "natural" sugar my glucose would bottom out to where I would be seconds from hitting the floor. Since I have cut out all processed foods and eat MORE fresh FRUIT and VEGES I do not have any issues. I can't wait till my 24 month check up. BTW, I lost 4 inches in my waist. Current waist size is 26 1/2 inches! Current dress sze is a 6. So I will continue to eat all the fresh fruits and veges that my little tummy will hold. To everyone just getting out of the proverbal gate, I wish all of you the very best and much success on your journey!!!!!!! (Trial and error is how I found out what made me feel better and have much more energy and I sleep better.) Deb

The nut didn't want me "snacking" between meals and by eating the same time everyday will regulate your hormones which can (some believe assist in weight loss dpending on who you ask) I was told no ranch dressing with raw veges. Not even lo-cal. She considers raw fruits and veges, almonds "snackng"

Every nut & doc is different on the dietary guidelines. In the begining I was told to eat when I felt "empty" by the list of foods and at what stage. Then it went to okay log everything including portion and time of day. (Didn't understand that then, the time of day thing now I do) Now it is NO SNAKING and NO FRUITS. Three meals and at least 1100 calories. Well needless to say I barely meet the 1100 cals. By everything that has been checked I'm in very, very good health. Then to top it off my primary is completly amazed at how well I have done. All in all it is good.... (I was eating watermelon and cantalope at 12 weeks. Oh it tasted so good!!!!!!!!!!)

LOL!!!!Yes I agree, fruits and veges didn't make me fat either. It was all of those cookies, cakes, pasta, gravies and bread. Labs are off of the charts. Eveything looked really great during that visit. So no worries here. Best of luck to you!

okay I know a lot of people take photos before, during and after. However, I wasn't one of those. I am not a camera person. So I did upload some photos one before and two very recent. I watched my transformation but I did not document with photos. I am still losing. So here we go......( YES that is me on the beach taken about ten months before my sleeve. I know it does not look like me)

I told those who mattered. However upon my return to work everyone noticed I dropped 20 pounds and it was noticeable. Now I have had three friends that I work with have the surgery and three more investigating. So if anyone asks me I tell them the truth. When all of the obese ladies I work with are getting thin rather quickly it is easier to tell them what I did to lose weight. However when they inquire about my friends I tell them why don't you ask them. I haven't had any negativity from anyone. It is a personal preference to tell or not to tell. Deb

Thank You to everyone!!! I LOVE my SLEEVE!!!!! It has brought me to where I am at today. A lot of my co-workers tell me to quit losing, I just smile and say, "when my body is done will be when I will quit losing" I don't think I'm done just yet. I just came off of a several month stall to lose one pound. So, pound by pound till I'm done. Again thanks, Deb

How have you been foxbins? Looks like you are doing GREAT!!!! It is so amazing how our sleeve works. I never thought in a million years I would be wearing a 6/8 misses. I haven't been this small in 16-17 years. It feels sooooooo GREAT not to be tired at the end of the day. Enjoy your weekend! Deb -
Looking For Post Surg People With Approx 100 Lbs To Lose/or Losing

Good Friday morning all!! I started with exactly 100 pounds to lose 5,1". As of today I am down 94 pounds. ( I haven't updated my ticker in awhile) I am 16 months post op. I was what they considered a "light weight". However, weighing 139 pounds today seems so sur-real to me. I have co-workers that have had the sleeve and they were two to three times heavier than me. And are 3,4 and 5 months post op and have lost an amazing amount of weight. I agree that following the post op diet and exercising is key in losing the weight. For me when I reached my 8 month is slowed way down. For several months now I have been struggling to lose my last few pounds. It isn't easy by no means. Dedication and a lot of right food choices and exercise is paramount. I wish everyone much success in their journey!!! Have a stellar weekend all!!! Deb -
Hi everyone. I have been away for awhile. The last five pounds is the DEVIL!!!! I have done everything from change in what foods I eat to what days I do cardo and weights, how much Water I'm taking in. I have journaled everything for the last 16 months. Yep nothing, nada, zilch. This is so frustrating now. Sixteen months post op and I'll be damned if the last five pounds will win. LOL!!!! If anyone has any suggestions by all means let me know. This has got to be hardest part. Thanks everyone!!!! Deb

Thanks Coops! Yes I have a two pound bounce all month long then BAM!!!! I'm hit with a five pound gain during TOM. Other than that I'm happy. Glad I didn't decide to go with what my surgeon determined to be my "ideal" weight. (122 pounds) I have weighed my goal weight before (135 pounds) Thats why I believe it isn't an unattainable weight to reach and be at. I went shopping for some new jeans and I was shocked to see that I canwear either a size 6 or an 8 in misses. So I am happy, however, I would be uber happy with 5 pounds less. LOL... We will see where I land. Thanks everyone! Deb

No, not unhappy. Frustrated is what I am. The goal weight is my personal goal not my surgeons. It is not unattainable for me. I know plateaus are common. Just so over the last five pounds. LOL... Just thinking I'm doing something wrong that is keeping me from reaching my goal. Thanks everyone! Deb
