    I hate SUGAR FREE

I understand completely! I know it can get real nasty tasting. I will put "real" sugar in my hot tea and coffee. I haven't eaten any sf Jello or pudding in a few weeks. I am finding that it is taking all I have to stomach the sf items that I have been eating for months. ( not much help here sorry) I can relate on the subject that's all. Deb

    Avoiding the subject.....

In the begining my co-workers were all so supportive. Now that I'm almost a "normal weight" I see and hear them talking about how I look almost too thin. I am hardly too thin. I am still a work in progress. I contribute all of whispers and finger pointing to that half of them didn't think I could follow through. I would not be able to stick to my daily regimen. I have done a fantastic job in obtaining every little goal that I have set for myself. I have even obtained the admiration of a handful of ladies at work. I see where they are and where I'm at, and I see that they are jealous. Now I am by no means a barbie or a model. I am on my way to becoming comfortable in my own body. I use to look in amazment to the ones that had WLS before me. Now I know how hard they had to work to acheive their new look. I am now in the final quarter mile and I know it will happen. Maybe not this month, but it will happen. I can't even talk to those women as I would more than likely get ugly with them. They have no idea what it takes to go through with surgery number one, then to endure the mental fitness that is required to keep and stay focused as to why you had the surgery to begin with number two. However I overlook the immaturity of grown women and the gossip that flows from their "PIE HOLES". Okay I feel better. Whew, I needed to get that off of my chest. That has been built up for months. Thanks everyone!!! Deb
  7. YES!!!!!! Over again and again and again. I would not change a thing. The sleeve is an awesome tool!!!! This has allowed me to have soooo much energy and I have my health back!!! I am no longer short of breath when walking short distances. I can now fit comfortably in my little Eclipse. I have my self esteem back as well. I have always struggled with my weight. When I was married to my second husband I lost over 100 pounds. Only to gain it back due to my marriage ending in divorce. So now I am in complete control of my health. My husband is totally supportive of my accomplishments! I couldn't have asked for a better coach, cheerleader in my weight loss journey. He has been there for me when I get those ugly, nasty stalls. So YES, YES, YES I would do it again!!!!! :) Deb
  8. For a month I have been absent due to trying to break this month long stall. I lost two pounds!!!! How exciting!!! I was getting angry at the last mile stone to goal. I increased everything. Including my zumba work outs. I gave it everything in class. Busted my butt to keep up with my instructor. She is awesome! Now the last 25 pounds till MY personal goal. I have my 6 month with the surgeon on the 24th I don't know if I can get another 5 off before then. His goal for me is 122 pounds. I don't think I would look right at that weight. My bone structure is not small but more medium so I am shooting for 135. I think that would be more of a comfortable weight for me. So if no one sees me around thats where I'm at. I knew that the stupid stall would not last. I am so glad to see the numbers moving again!!!! To everyone going through their stalls keep up the good work it will pay off!!!!!! I was just so damn angry at everything, So I just re-adjusted Water, Protein and incorperated more green veges. I do see a difference in the way my body is shaping up. I also do 45 minutes of kettleball workouts on the days I don't have zumba. So the inches were falling off and not pounds. I can live with that. Deb

    Wellbutrin

I took it a few years ago for smoking, like tiff sId great for the smoking. Not so much for anything else. They should have called it," no sex at all" needless to say I went back to smoking. I did quit back in Jan of this year with chantix. Everyone is different. What works for some doesn't work for others. Give it a try. Deb

    Welcome Florida Sleevers

Welcome scorch!!! Keep us posted!!! Brookb I agree we should do a get together. We would need to choose a centralized location for all that would like to attend. That would be wonderful!!!! Deb
  11. I have been keeping two dresses from my thinner days. A black slinky sequined dress size 10!! And one that is just a plain linen dress size 12 P. They both fit!!! So excited!!!! Imagine my surprise when the black one flowed over my hips. ( which are a still somewhat big) the linen dress is lose in the bust and shoulders kind of snug but not tight in my hips. Once my hips are a little smaller, I will have it altered. Oh yeah zumba must be working!!!! Deb

    United Healthcare ***

I have UHC and I originally started the process wanting lap band. Once I went to the seminar I quickly changed my mind to VSG. I called UHC and spoke with my coordinator about how I have changed my mind and I would like to have the sleeve instead. Her only concern was if I was switching doctors. I did not have any problems with getting my sleeve. Have you called and spoke with a coordinator? Good luck with everything! Deb

Do u drink pepsi and coke??

I haven't had a mt. dew, dr pepper or a pepsi in 15 months. I don't miss them at all. Just like when I gave up smoking I was determined to walk away from that nasty habit. I did it in a week. Don't miss that at all!! Between sodas and cigarettes the money I saved went for a beach rental for a week, shopping, and saved the rest for Christmas presents this year. Deb

    UHC covers Plastics...

Hi wishes. I will have an answer for you today. The tt would be without muscle repair. (Which is what I have a CPT code for.) Deb.
  15. From day one when I decided that I was taking back my life, I watched, read everything I could get my hands on about WLS. I originally was going after the lap band. So I did a lot watching and reading about the lap band. Once I attended the seminar that (lap band) was not even an option anymore. I was wanting to google VSG ASAP. I watched soooooo many videos of the procedure being performed. I came accross VST then I would read and read every evening after work everyday. Deb.

    Is it worth it?

Just started taking a zumba class. I like it. The instructor is awesome. I didn't feel uncomfortable or like anyone was watching me. Some of the moves were easy some weren't.( at least for me) I know me, if I have DVD's They would gather dust and not get used. So by having to take the class that I have shelled out money for is an insentive to go. Plus it is on my way home from work. Which is another reason for me to be proactive in going to class. I will continue until I reach goal. Between the zumba classes I'm doing the kettlebell work out. More cardio and weights as I near goal. I now have more time to include more activity. For six months straight I had been working six days a week, 65 hours a week. Which didn't leave much time for anything else. Now I will be making the most of the time that I have now to get the weight off. (27 pounds seems like it will take forever) LOL...... Deb
  17. I'm going through that now. I know it will pass and the weight will drop. (to top it off, my scale broke so my weekly weigh in didn't happen Saturday morning) time to invest in a good scale. Be patient. I was frustrated at first, not so much now. Deb
  18. Everyone is different during TOM. I actually LOSE more weight 2-3 days before. I recently was on vacation, I gained 3 pounds when I came home I dropped 11 pounds in 5 days. So I can say I lose and yes I do weigh myself. One month I didn't gain nor did I lose as much as the previous month. Play it by ear. I did. Deb

    What is considered Failure??

I would contact Cigna to find out what exactly their requirements are. Ask if they could send you the requirements in writing either email or snail mail. I have UHC and I called to ask what the requirements were as what was online was vague and cryptic. I spoke with a coordinator and she sent the info via email and snail mail. So I had both. The insurance coordinator with my surgeon's office even had the requirements and I received those as well. So I was aware of the requirements no hidden surprises that would delay my surgery. Good luck Deb
  20. WOW!!!!!! You look fantastic!!!!! I am waiting till I get my "new Boobs" before I wear a bikini top.... Deb

How are the Florida sleevers doing????

Doing good, super close to goal. Finally had lunch with co-workers and no one really noticed how little I ate. Which I was concerned with. I haven't thought about a name for my sleeve, but tiny comes to mind. LOL..... Deb
  22. ldydrgnkpr

    Oh So Close

I am so close to just being over weight. .8 till my BMI is under 30. Can't wait to see that. It seems like it has taken forever to leave the 43 BMI behind. I can't believe that I have lost 70 pounds! That's so hard for me to wrap my head around. I hope that by the end of the week I can say that I'm just over weight. LOL.... Deb
  23. ldydrgnkpr

    Oh So Close

No pre-op diet here. Thats all since surgery. Which makes me appreciative of what the sleeve can do!!!
  24. I had one to two staples per incision. And now my scars are just about not so noticeable. Deb
  25. I could've easily went back after 1 week. However, I still had the staples so my surgeon would not release me until they were out and he examined me. So I had to wait 2 weeks. Deb
