Walked for 1 1/2 hours this morning. Decided to walk by time and not by distance. To see if that makes a difference. I think it may still equal the same three miles. Not sure. Need to invest in a pedometer a good one. Any recomendations? Heading out to work in the yard. Got to sweat these pound off. I can do it!!!!

I Had My Gastric Sleeve Surgery On _____, And So Far Have Lost _____.
ldydrgnkpr replied to sabrina140's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I wish the last few would hurry up and drop. LOL..... I went to my PCP on 11/11/2011 she told me I have lost another 11 since my last visit 6 weeks ago. However I think her scale and my scale are a few pounds different. But hey, if she said 11 I'll take that. Mine said more. No worries here. I hope I can squeeze to goal before the end of the year I think we have done an amazing job with our weight loss, mini goals and goals. We can make it happen!!!!! Deb -

LOL... Bendy I like that!!! I'll have to remember that we are more bendy, bendable than before. LOL...... Deb -
I ran into a few negative nancy's. It is okay I just let it go. Move forward. Not worth the energy to feed into the negativity of ones misery. I'm too damn happy now to let some petty, trivial response ruin my journey to a healthier lifestyle. Deb

Oh so true!!!! It is sooooo much better!!!! Deb -
It does get easier to drink Water. When I walk I carry 32 ounces with me and I can drink all of it in about 45 minutes. When doing zumba I can drink just as much. So yes, the further out you are from surgery it is easier to get more fluids in. You will be able to gage what you will be able to drink and how much as you go through the transistion. Good luck with your journey! Deb

I added salads around the five week mark. I started small and worked my way to a handful (yes I measured with my hand LOL) and added chicken about 2 1/2 to 3 ounces. It is all by trial and error. I tolerate salads well. I did stay full for a few hours. I recently realized that I can eat 1 small bananna. I became very full on a very small bananna. It was oh so yummy!!! Good luck!! Deb

Experts Please Help: How do you know your sleeve is "full"?
ldydrgnkpr replied to Hopeful Spirit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My signal to STOP is a hiccup and or my nose will run. Those are my stop indicators. I don't try to force the food in. I have learned that when I get the first hiccup I put down the fork/spoon. This is all by trial and error for everyone. No two people will be able to gage the sense of being full the same. You will find what works for you. Good luck Deb -
Twenty pounds left to lose. Off to walk three miles. Then home to clean my car. Burn those calories!!!!!!! Got to get to goal!!!!

Today after I did my three miles I went to the store. Usually I park my car far away, however this morning I parked closer. I went in the door that wasn't electric. A man and his wife were leaving and he held the door open for me. Now 77 pounds ago no one ever held the door open for me. Nor would they make eye contact with me. Now that I'm 77 pounds thinner I am seeing things that I over looked as if I didn't I would've told them all to get bent. Men and women make eye contact with me. At work most of the attorneys smile and say good morning as to where 8 months ago I wouldn't even get a response. This just goes to show just how shallow the human race is. I just don't understand the way people treat obese and or overweight people. I could easily ignore the ones that treated me like poop. But I choose to treat everyone the same, big or small. I hope one day that they look at how obese people perceive them. Like how much of a jerk they truely are and smile the whole time that thought runs through the mind...... Deb

UGH!!!!!!!! I just don't get it........ I feel like my body is tired of losing. Now granted I do work out and I track my daily food intake. Not sure where my issue lies. I had a visit with my surgeon last week and according to their standards I have lost 65% EWL. Plus they are saying that my "Ideal" weight is 122.4 pounds. I believe my "Ideal" weight is 135 pounds. I have weighed that in the past. Like about 15 years ago. I felt wonderful at that weight. I think 122 pounds is too skinny for my frame. My exercise is zumba twice a week and I walk 2-3 miles twice a week and I incorperate kettlebell workout on the days I walk. I see inches coming off but the pounds are being downright stubborn and will not move. If they do its like one off two on, two off one on. I just don't get it. I stall almost every 2-3 weeks for 2-3 weeks at a time. Seriously? WTH!!! I haven't eaten any so called junk. I don't eat white carbs. So what is the deal? I just don't get it? I wish my body could "talk" to me and tell me what it needs more of or less of. LOL..... Any suggestions are sooooo welcomed!!!!!! Deb

I did. When we were on vacation. It did take me a while to get it down. I also did sip on his beer as well. Didn't have an issue. (Plus I haven't had another one since.) Deb -

Unfortunately it is there. We press on, move forward and continue to live our lives. Doing the best we can do. I do hope everything smooths out for you. Deb -
Today I had a check up with my surgeon. According to them, I'm @ 65% EWL. I'm not a year out yet. However, There was a 3 pound difference from what my scale shows. No real big deal. My labs were great! My B-12 was high, 1500. So He said to take everyother day. No issues with food. Other than not being able to tolerate cake. LOL. No problem. I will gladly take that as a good thing. All in all everything turned out good. The nurse did tell me that I SHOULD lose ALL of my EXCESS WEIGHT. I was like, YAY!!!! She did say as long as I keep on track and not deviate from what I am doing now I should lose all of my weight with no problem. Then I was told where she sees re gain is where their patients fall back into bad eating habits. Well I really don't foresee that for me. As my food demon was sweets. Which I can't do at all. I had an extremly small piece of cake and BAM!!! I felt so sick, that is a good thing for me as I now know that my body truely wasn't built for sweets. LOL.......Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!!!! Deb

That is so awesome!!!! Congrats!!!!!! Deb

Agreed that between cardio and weight training you can get to goal. I do zumba 2 nights a week. (the instructor is going to 3 nights a week in Nov.) I walk 2 miles two days a week and then I do kettlebell for 20 minutes on the days I walk. I pretty much do my own thing with the weights, you can do your own routine. I watched several workouts on youtube and pretty much formulated my own. I am hoping to be at goal by end of year. Deb

OMG!!!!! No longer considered OBESE!!!!!
ldydrgnkpr posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well let me start by saying that today I did something that a year ago I would never have attempted. (I started taking zumba classes a month ago.) I did my first zumbathon today for Susan Koman. For two hours in the Florida sun I danced my jiggly butt off. I would like to add that I am slap wore out. Now I have been going to class twice a week and it has paid off. (Drum roll please) YAY!!!!! I am no longer obese!!!!! Just OVERWEIGHT!!!!!! I never thought I would see that!!!! I will keep doing what I'm doing to get to goal!!!! Anyone thinking about trying zumba, Go for it!!! I am one that has two left feet, but I move and keep up with everyone else. I may end up going right when everyone else is going left. It's all good here. You will be amazed at how you transform your body. I measured my waist this morning, It is a 29!!!!!! Six weeks ago it was a 33. I am so stoked!!!! So wonderful to see the numbers go down!!! Hope everyone has a stellar weekend!!!!! Deb -
600-800 calories...easy or hard?
ldydrgnkpr replied to meggspeggs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Tiff as well. My diet consists of 2 hard boiled eggs, 1 cup of cottage cheese, 6 ounces of yogurt, 6 ounces of either chicken or tuna. Which all of this equals 620 cals 72 grams Protein and 31 grams of carbs. Carbs coming from the cottage cheese and the yogurt. If I snack it is beef jerky or pork rinds. Then there is the 64 plus ounces of fluids. I'm still losing pretty steadily 2.5-3 pounds a week. Exercising 4-5 days a week. I'm hoping by year end to be at goal. (I have a feeling that I will find it diffacult to eat 1100-1200 calories a day.) I will work out a schedule for that as well when I get there. Deb
