Pre Op weight loss
ldydrgnkpr replied to ldydrgnkpr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No pre-op shakes. Water, sf Jello (lots of water) salads. I'm wondering if I'm begining to look like a rabbit. LOL. -

ldydrgnkpr replied to ldydrgnkpr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you everyone. I can't wait till I'm sleeved. Super excited about everything. -
I can not believe I was approved in 1 3/4 hours!!!!!!! Paperwork landed in UHC hands at 3:45 PM today and at 5:30 PM I received the call!!!! OMG!!!!! Waiting for the surgery coordinator to call me tomorrow with my date. I'm soooooo excited!!!!! YAY!!!!!

Each plan is different. I have UHC and it covers all three procedures. The plan I have required that I complete six months of doctor supervised diet and exercise. Psych evaluation. I was just approved and my surgery date is March 7th.I know someone that has UHC and their plan required a five year weight history. I use to have Aetna but the plan I had truely was not a good plan. Didn't cover didly. So look closely and carefully at each one. I personally would choose UHC over Aetna any day. But to each his own. Deb

My case manager was super nice and I was shaking all the way home. This was just so amazing. Was so not expecting the call this soon. I'm still in shock. When I get my date I will let everyone know. -
Congrats on your date!!...Great news!!....Can't wait till my paperwork reaches my surgeon then its off to UHC

Thought I would have had at least a confirmation that my paperwork was submitted to my insurance by now. Doesn't look like it is going to happen. My PCP & Clinician have yet to fax the final paperwork to my surgeon. I have even called and it seemed like I was getting the brush off. So I called the surgeons office and told them of my dilemma. I was connected to the voicemail of the pre-determination person. I left her a detailed message. I even emailed her. I will be calling them back next week for sure. I'm so not happy right now. Not sure how long I will be waiting on this. So frustrated right now I could just scream! Just needed to vent.

Where do you find the shampoo?

I know that some experience hairloss and some do not. I have natural curly hair. When dry it looks thick, full. When wet not so much. Very, very thin. I'm sure I will be one of the ones that will have hairloss. I've been looking at supplements. Not sure if taking them will ward off the hairloss. If it would make it not so noticeable. Or just do nothing at all. I will probably get the Biotin. If anyone has any suggestions, please share. (waiting on a date) So maybe I have some time to do some preventive maintainence so it won't be so noticeable. Thanks everyone. Deb

Completed six months
ldydrgnkpr replied to ldydrgnkpr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so wanting a February date, but March is around the corner. Not sure what to expect from UHC have heard so many positive and negative about their approval process. I know my surgeon should have everything by next Friday. I will call then to make sure that they have received all the paperwork and If I need to send anything further. I'm going to hate being on pins and needles until I hear that I have been approved. I just need to remember to breathe. LOL.... -
Completed my six months of insurance required diet and exercise. Psych evaluation completed and passed. Yay! (cont) http://tl.gd/8jun3u

PPI- Proton Pump Inhibitor. (Pepcid ,Zantac)

No support groups, just six months supervised diet and psych eval. My surgeon needed a gallbladder scan and full labs. Which were completed 1/7.

Hello everyone! I'm almost finished with the six month supervised diet and exercise. Also will have the eval with the pysch completed on the 21st. Then one more visit with my PCP then everything will be submitted to UHC. YAY!!!!!!! I'm hopeful that I can get a surgery date end of February or maybe the begining of March. (depending on how long the approval process takes and having to go and get pre-admitted at the hospital and schedule one more visit with the surgeon) I can not believe that it is almost here. Neither can my family. They have been so supportive. I know I can count on them being there for me. Including my extended family here on this forum. I will update once I know when I have a date. Thank you all for the information that is here for all of us that will soon be joining you soon on the looser's bench. Deb

Whinning about the Questions!
ldydrgnkpr replied to NotSoLittleMermaid's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree, I have told my family and they are very supportive and my closest and dear friends. One who which is also going through the six month required diet for the sleeve. I have decided at work ( my supervisor knows and of course HR will know when I have the surgery as I will do FMLA for the two week recovery period) Just to tell the ones noticing that I'm shrinking that I have started the atkins diet and walking and doing some yoga. (The people that I work with in my small department (8 people) know but they have forgotten all about it. No one mentions it. Which is okay with me. No big deal. ) I have only one more month and the eval with the shrink and I'm done and will be submitting to UHC. So I can surely understand where you are coming from. Good luck with your success!!!!!! -
Okay, someone told me that since I have had a tummy tuck ten plus years ago, that when I have the sleeve my weight loss will not be the same as if I never had the tummy tuck. I do not believe this. But if anyone knows of someone that has had a tummy tuck prior to their VSG I would like to hear from them. I just find this a little bit strange. I don't have a date yet, still have two visits left with my Doctor and the MMPI 2 test. Then ready to submit. Just wanted to throw that out there.
