Good morning everyone, today I'm exactly one week away from being sleeved. I have my pre-op Thursday. I have some things I will be getting either Thursday or this weekend for post-op. I have to order my Vitamins. I have enough samples for a few weeks. I'm so excited and anxious. I can not believe those six months flew by and will be sleeved in a few short days. Deb

Okay I had to run to the store and pick up some splenda and cheese. (what a combination right) Anyway I found myself walking isle to isle looking at all of things (food) that I have left behind. The pre op diet has made a crazy woman out of me. LOL. I know that I have abandoned them for a GOOD reason. But I do have a passion for chocolate. A BIG passion. But on the other hand I do enjoy tuna, cottage cheese and all that is healthy. But the chocolate covered peanuts (Brachs) was my BFF (LOL) I know this will pass. As I thought that I would go crazy when I gave up all of my favorite soda's. That was over seven months ago. I don't want one and I also think of how much more weight I avoided by not drinking them every day. I know that all of this is for my own good. I want to be healthy. I want to have a life with my family. So I know that I can do this. I was just curious if any one else did this??? (Sounds silly I know) Deb

So is this what its going to be like after surgery?
ldydrgnkpr replied to warrior68's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went through the same thing when I quit smoking. I do chew sugarless gum. I bury myself in my job. (granted it is a desk job) But none the less I push through. I don't have the nagging need to go on a break and smoke anymore. The eating part well I find that if I stay busy I just find that all I want is something to drink. So I grab a glass or bottle of Water with my crystal light. I am really trying to push the food demon away from me. As I found that before I started this process, I would eat just because it was there. Mindless eating was my life. There will always be temptation. Its just avoiding it that is the hardest part. My husband is trying to not bring anything in the house that would ruin my pre op diet. He has changed his eating habits as well. So I completley understand the "I'm forgetting something" feeling. I'm sure we will all make it through this. Deb -
Welcome!!!!! Glad you are here!!! Great people and information are on here. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Again welcome. Deb

ldydrgnkpr replied to warrior68's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on my pre op diet now. Consists of two Protein shakes to replace two meals. One meal high protein low carb. I drink lots of Water through out the day. Close to 70 to 80 ounces. I have wanted to cheat. I haven't. I have kept my eye on the prize. So yeah I have thought about it. Deb -
Anyone on for March 7th????

Twelve days until surgery. As of today, 7.6 pounds lost. Took in 80 ounces of fluid today. Wow!

How long did it take for you to be approved?
ldydrgnkpr replied to Melissal's topic in Insurance & Financing
I was lucky. Less than one day for approval. -
I did the e-cig too. But I didn't care for it. Sold my kit and all of the liquids to a co-worker. So completly smoke free. This is the second time that I have quit. First time I was smoke free was for six years. Then went through a rough patch and picked it up again for six years. I'm totally commited to being smoke free. Good luck to everyone trying to kick the habit. I know it is tough. Deb

Fantastic!!!!!! Can't wait till I'm sleeved!!! You ARE an inspiration Diva. -
I too quit. I took chantix for two weeks. After the two weeks I no longer wanted one. It made the cigarette taste like dirt to me. So yep that is all it took. Not only did I quit smoking, I stopped all carbonated beverages (seven months ago) Caffiene as well. I don't even want another cigarette or pepsi product. Good luck with your choice. Deb
