Why so many Pre-Ops in the Post-Op section?
tannie replied to sekinj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Isn't this what we are supposse to do? A community supports and encourages all of its members. I do understand that you want short and to the point answers. Just try to remember, many others need positive encouragment and a feeling of beloning. I so appreciate the positive words and advice I have recieved from members of this community both pre lapbanders and post. I was banded yesterday-So I'll will being going back and fourth. Some of the best advice that I have recieved came from post banders in the preband fourm:) -
Hey Cheriek, Good luck I will say a prayer for you:) Hopefully I get banded tomarrow around 6 am. I have a sinus infections so I'm kinda worried that this may cause problems. Staying positive though and wishing for the best. Good luck! I will thinking about you:)

:cursing: I have started my clear liquid diet today which is really tough. However, I'm not complaining. Luckily I only have to do it one day:) I go in tomarrow for lb. I am really excited and nervous. Please say a little prayer that it goes well for me. Thank you all for your supportive and encouraging stories.

Okay ladies lets talk clothes
tannie replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey guys, I thought I read a thread a few months ago about a clothing exchange for LB patients. Anyone know anything about this? I havent been banded yet but have lost enough to need some clothes with my pre opt diet. I get banded this wend. I wish I know more about it. Sounds like a great ideal. If you find anything out please post it. I so know what you mean about the stretchy stuff it is definatly not made for people with my shape. Good luck and have fun shopping:) -
I'm doing it on the 20th and getting a little nervous. Reading your post made me feel so much better. Thank you so much! Have a silly question about gas X I plan on going back to work in 4 days. One of my biggest fears is gas @ work. Does the GasX actually dissolve it or do you have to release the gas. Just don't want to take it at work if it will make the poots worse. I'm sorry to be so gross. But I'm seriously worried about this. Hope you keep feeling better everyday! Your an encourament and inspiration:)

Gained weight from intial consult then started loosing
tannie posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey guys, I messed up and gained 5lbs after my intial consult durning the summer months. I have been on my liquid diet since wend. I am around what I was give or take a few lbs @ consult. But I'm terrifed the dr. will cancel my surgery. I go to the Dr. for my preopt tomarrow. Any advise? I know this is my fault I should have been watching it better. I'm in the right place now, but afraid it may be too late. -
Hey guys, I had my pre-opt today. I was so worried that I had gained weight since my last apt, but luckily my home scale was way off. I have lost 8 1/2 lbs. My pre-opt diet is getting easier. I am scheduled for surgery on the 20th. I am so excited and nervous. Today has been a great day and I just wanted to share with all of you. Thank you for your support and comments. Through out this past few weeks. You guys are the best! I am so glad I'm not in this alone.

YEAH! My scale and the Doctors was way off. I actually have lost 8 1/2 lbs since my intial consult. I was worried about nothing. Since I have only been on my preopt diet for two weeks, my dr was very happy with me. Surgery is a go. I'm scheduled for Oct 20. It will be here before you know it. I am so relieved. -

Thank you all. I feel better. I go in this morning so we will see. Say a prayer and cross your fingers for me:) I don't think they will be much of a weight difference, probably 2 to 3 lbs. Which is crazy because my clothes fit way looser than they have in a year:) -
3 day of pre-opt diet tired, muscle cramps
tannie posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey guys, This is the third day of my pre-opt diet. I am hungry, but that is not the worst part. All of muscles seem to take turns cramping and joints are achy. I have been drinking tons of Water, thinking maybe it was dehydration, but I don't think that is possible. I am also exhausted, have a headache. I don't mean to sound like a whinny drama queen. I realize this is going to be hard, but if anyone has any suggestions to help with these symptoms I would be so grateful. On the plus side my pre opt is 10-12 and then surgery is 10-20 I was really nervous. Now I am just excited. This is the first thing I've done for myself in ages. I also want to say I truly love this board. Reading your successes and the friendships you have made along the way inspires me to keep going. -

I actually have lost some weight like 4lbs during my pre-opt diet. The problem is It has been 6 or 7 months since my consult. During this time I had summer vaccations and I gained 5 or 6lbs. Now I think I am one or two lbs more than I was at consult. My BMI according to an internet site is 36.3. I am really stressing about my apt tommarow. I know it is my fault, I should have been more carful during summer. But since then I have gotten my head and habits in the right place. -

I tried calling my Dr. first. the nurse told me that the only thing I could have was carnation instant breakfast no sugar. "It has everything I need" she said. I trust them, but man I feel crappy. I may try to suck the salt off a sunflower seed though:) Thanks for the encouragement. 6 days good for you! We'll get to the other side-just got to hang in there & tough it out. -
Good luck and speedy recovery to both of you! Keep us posted:)

Thank you so much for posting your experience. I start my diet tomarrow and am getting nervous. I'll have 4 days to recover before going back to work kinda worried about it. What worrys the most from your post is the catheter. I have had major surgery twice and never had a catheter. Scary stuff:) I hope you have a very speedy recovery. Feel better soon:)

Good for you:)

My prayers and thoughts are with you. I'm so happy that were able to do this. How exciting! Good luck!

Thank you so much. Prayers are so appreciated. Oct 28 is the next court hearing.

Hey Guys, My surgery date is Oct 20. I am in the middle of a nasty custody battle for my neice and nephew. We have raised my baby girl since she was 6m (now 5) and my baby boy since he was 2 ( now 7). Their "parents" are unfit to say the least. bio mom hasn't seen them for years and bio dad gave up his rights. Our next court date for Oct 28--eight days after my surgery. I started to cancel my procedure, but couldn't. I am doing this for my health, so I can take care of my faimly and continue working for them and my students. I believe that I need to do this for my kids. I also feel like if I wait on this to be over it may never be (it's already has been 5 years and I don't see an end in site). Am I nuts for thinking I can do this and attend court eight days later? Please let me know what you think. I realize everyone is different, and this is very subjective. I will say I have had major surgery before and recovered quickly.
