    Excess Weight Calculation

Thank you all! It helps put things in perspective! I wasn't ever planning to really use it to compare numbers, I was just looking for possible weight loss with the surgery. So like the potential that could be lost. I know it is different for each person. I was just planning on using it for the days where a plateau hits and beat myself up, I can be like "well you have lost x% of your excess body fat in x amounr of time, you are still doing great!" Just to help keep me motivated and not lose sight.
  2. So question to you all, when calculating out your excess weight, did you use the weight of when you started your journey (for some that may be their highest weight) or use the weight that you checked in for surgery? So for example, I was at 304lbs when I started my journey (lapband removed and going through all the testing to before surgery) aftet all of that plus the pre op liver shrinking diet (total of 6 months from band removal to bypass) I got down to 278 on my surgery day. So I am just trying to figure out do I used the 304lbs or 278lbs to calculate out my excess weight.

    6 days post op

Yes, I was given acid reducers to take daily for the next 6 months. Not really experiencing much nausea today. I think whatever it was may have passed.
  4. Hey all, I am 6 days post op and feeling nauseous mainly at night. By the time is gets later into the evening, around 7:30pm, I start feeling nauseous and I start feeling extremely bloated. I make sure I am getting up and walking around for at least 5 mins every 1-2 hours. The nausea has gotten so bad I am gagging and heaving in the evening. Right now I am just drinking water and slowly trying to add in protein shakes so I hit my minimum protein goal. I just wanted to know if anyone else has gone through this, or shoukd I be concerned? (I am passing gas too. And have had 2 very watery bowel movements since I was discharged home)

    A very long battle...

Thanks everyone! I had started tracking all my exercise and my caloric intake at the begging of January, but I haven't been doing it religiously. I think if I track more often and drink more Water, that may help It could also be that it's been more of a nuisance because it's that time of the month for me and every little thing has been getting me upset lol!
  10. Oooooookay So I was banded in September '10 and I've been gradually shedding my weight. I started at 300lbs, and currently weigh 277. My lowest point after surgery was 274. I've been battling the same 3lbs since Thanksgiving ( I was surprised at how well I did during both holidays). 7.5cc is filled out of my 10cc band. I don't know if I should go in for another fill. When I have a meal I feel satiated for 4 hours and then I have another meal. I don't really snack during the day (if I do, it'll be a 100 cal snack). I pretty much used to never exercise and since the holidays I have increased my exercise, I'm doing fun cardio workouts for at least 30min. a day. I'm just very confused and frustrated at those stupid 3lbs. Any ideas or suggestions?

    One Day Post-Op Problems

Thanks! I guess with also being on my cycle every emotion is hitting at once. I am just glad to know I am not alone going through this. I just get jealous of my fiance when he has some delicious smelling food and all I have is tomato soup.
  12. Hey all! I am one day post-op and I have already had a mental breakdown. I am normally a strong individual and right now I feel like crap. I can't bend or turn how I normally used to do I can't even sleep in my own bed because I just can't get comfortable. I also want to start eating solid foods even though I know I shouldn't. I'm sorry just ranting... Has anyone else gone through anything like this?
